Post Heya I'm new here, any build advice?

I'm pretty new to Grim Dawn started playing about a week ago 27 hours in so far. Out of all the classes I've played I probably enjoy Shaman/Occultist the most so I decided to open up Grimcalc and try making a conjurer build. The two most common as far as I can tell are bleed and summoner (I went for summoner).

I'm pretty set on the skills but have no clue what devotions are any good, advice would be welcome

Seems like the main summoner devotions are Sheppard's Crook, Bysmiel's bond as well as Mogdrogen The Wolf. I just gunned for those whilst picking up Akeron's Scorpion and Manticore since I heard they really drop enemy defences/resists.

Can't help you with pet conjurer but if you like conjurer this is something i'll suggest - DW-Pistol Lightning Conjurer

Default Dual wield pistols huh?

Believe it or not despite my playtime I have never used a ranged weapon xD

Are they any good? Maybe you could recommend a few early game ones (the best I've seen is a blue item so far). I picked up an item called the "Devil's Mark" or something like that it was a 2H rifle that seemed pretty good.

Hmm, in my experience early game ranged can be a little weak. If you want to make some interesting build then i suggest playing Vitality Conjurer. It's pretty great due to high resistance reduction. If you want to stick with ranged then i'll take look at faction gear. Those merchants have some pretty sweet gear

Default Vitality Conjurer

What kind of skills would a Vitality Conjurer use then? I played one for a while just ended up maxing devouring swarm and curse of frailty. Are the totems any good? I like the healing from wendigo and the lightning can be converted to vit damage right.

Check the compendium, i am not the biggest fan of Vitality as a primary damage type so never bothered building one. But you had the right idea, DS+CoD gives high Vitality resistance reduction which is why its considered a good beginner build.

My advice is to wait until Crate fixes the utter Cluster McLovin' they made of the game, with the 1.0.0.7 patch.

Some people just weren't happy with the patch, just like you have tons of people unhappy with the next patch.
Even tho they have a total of zero seconds playing it.

I personally preferred the game in 1.0.0.6 at first, but once I realized I was no longer able to ignore DA like I used to then I changed my mine.
Game feels better now then it ever has before. Change just takes a little time to get used to.
Excited for the 1.0.0.8 patch now.

You'll want to get some nice devotion skills to tag onto your minions as well. I personally use Flame Torrent (The Fiend) for the Hellhound and Elemental Storm (Rhowans Crown) for the Familiar. Those same constellations also buff pet elemental damage.

Summoner's a pretty good choice for starting out I find. Good luck, hope you enjoy the game
