I just started playing TQ again. I'm doing a run with a Haruspex. I felt kind of bad that I died 30 times on normal... but then again I am playing with Achilles mod and all the bosses can 1 hit kill me. All of those deaths have been in 1-2 hour long end boss fights where one wrong move and I take thousands of damage.

Also that 1-20 hike in Achilles is absolute murder.

I don't think I have ever sat down and played TQ all the way through with just the default difficulty even with increased spawns. It just wouldn't be the same.

I just installed Titan Quest again to help out with "how many kills". And I thought lets give it another spin but I'm not sure which masteries to choose. Back in the days I had like a gazillion builds I would like to try but my memory doesn't go back that far. So I hope someone can help me out it would be much appreciated.

I played a Champion (Warfare + Nature) and an Evoker (Earth + Dream) before so preferably none of these. I do would like to play melee and if I could find a nice spear it would be a preferable weapon. Anyone any suggestions?

My highest char was Warden (Hunting/Defense), it was amazing (even though little too powerful at the late levels..).

Rogue+Hunting is probably the craziest melee dps.

Rogue+Dream can be fun, but some skills exclude one another (the charging ones for example). You would be drinking mana pots quite often I guess.

I heard melee Bonecharmer is REALLY great fun (I still want to try one myself when I get some free time to return to TQ..), combination of the abilities makes it really awesome, even though it may be hard at the start, once you max all the important abilities, you will tear apart almost anything and leech life like a vampire. =)

And my first build ever in TQ..Corsair (Def/Rogue), it was amazing, but pretty slow (with the spears). Still fun, as you are kinda invincible with all the Def perks and Rogue's Nightshade/Flash Powder. Traps do all the kiting, etc. =)

If you want to use a spear, you have not that much of a choice..either Rogue+something or Hunting+something I guess.

Enjoy!!! =)

You're welcome. Warden is great, but as I said, it tends to be little too easy later on, as you are invincible with crazy DA values and deal tons of dmg with Study Prey.

Let me know how does the Bone Charmer turn out, plz! =)

I've been playing the game again recently with a Battlemage. Just finished up Knossos and started Egypt. I had forgotten how easy the back to back boss fights with the Minotaur Lord and the Telkine were. Man what a chump that Minotaur Lord was, I tore that guy to shreds, I swear there were harder hero monsters in that labyrinth. The Telkine at least made me quaff a some potions, but he was pretty much a chump too. Of course I'm still only on Normal right now so I shouldn't be that surprised.

For all the time I've spent playing TQ in the past, and some of that time playing a character using Warfare Mastery, I've never gone dual wield before as I've always been a fan of sword & board, but I'm going to go down that road this time I think. Looking over the skill tree it seems to me that dual wield doesn't really start to pay dividends until you pump up the skills, and not just the basic dual wield skill. So I figure I'll hold on to my trusty shield for a good while longer while I start sinking points into the dual wield progression. Is my assumption correct?

I have a dual wield character. They can do crazy damage, but at the expense of Defence.
Still, I really like the various dual wield animations.

I just installed TQ & TQ:IT through Steam again. Trying a Ranger.. I never really play bow weilding classes in aRPG's.. usually Melee of some kind. It's nice though since the Ranger can perk for piercing so i can use spear + shield for close encounters.

Just picked up a nice blue bow and blue short sword but cant use them until L9 & L11 respectively.

Should be fun trying this style of play though. It's squishy atm and I've read it's heavily reliant on good gear.. but my wolves are tearing it up atm hehe.
