Default Faction Dark Gypsies

Hello community! My apologies if this idea has been explored before but I thought it would be interesting if there was a faction made up of Gypsies that have taken in possessed humans, monstrosities, mediums, etc. Also rogue type merchants or "for hires" and troubadours would follow them. They could perhaps offer black market items or use powers to manipulate the extra dimensional beings to their own ends. I could see them moving around dangerous areas in their wagons with strange lights and chanting following their wake.

A traveling faction, it would be great. I figure the lights and shadows of those wagons in the mist...

I don't clearly understand what are Gypsies for you (troubadours would be gypsies, not followers, wouldn't they ?).
A dark ambivalent faction which has managed to gain some ethereal powers by mysticism and dark rituals (trade), which is tolerant to all beings, humans, ethereals and/or chtonians, as long as they respect them, which value the fate of its community more than that of humanity (up to the sacrifice of non-gypsies...).

Some could exhibit lesser monstrosities in circus, while hiding more potent and less willingly ones.

Of course, all of that would be inspired by victorian popular belief and clichés, not by real modern gypsies !

Yeah Haaznahnuf, thats exactly the train of thought I'm thinking! Great response. Perhaps the faction chief could be a withered old woman who hides great power, or a small girl in a white victorian style dress that is possessed by an ancient being but she can somewhat keep it under control. She could have a "hulk" clichés character that doesn't speak who protects her and is half warped. The mention of troubadour was reference to various musicians that would be apart of the group adding violins and ambient music of its own to the faction/game. I imagine a dark and sombre violinist the player meets who introduces them more and more to the faction until you gain acceptance and can do quests from its leader.

Pfiuuu, it remains me... more than twenty years ago...

A strange age-less man leading a convoy made of troubadours wagons.

Where the common (human) NPC could only see, and despise, troubadours, jesters and acrobats, the player had to incarnate awakening werewolves in the first RPG, and in the second one, some powerful yet asleep immortals, dreaming in the cold interstellar space of the bygone ages of humanity to recollect their own lost memories through remembrance of their deeds as traveling shape-shifters and reality-twisters troubadours. Call them Dragons. Each game session was a dream, reenacting the past among humanity (through a short story set in some epoch), in the hope to alter what happened to them (read when humans forgot all their myths and legends) , and hence to awake ( they had lost a war against one of them, call him Mister Jack or He-Who-Brings-The-Light...).
The quintessence of Role-Playing Games, shall you say.
