You all do the same mistake. Some people crying about "no steam, please!!!". How do you like that? Why do you treat origin users like crap?
Unless EA wants to control the game in general and studio itself, origin is a must as well as steam. Any system allowing to spread game among significant amount of users is good and worth thinking about. Your ego has nothing to do with it.

Of course, if talking about buyout - no way. But you should clearly recognize the difference before asking to do or not to do something.

That's just my concern. Right now EA is promising 90 days of "free" distribution to indie teams... but I wonder what the price of that "freedom" is in reality. Exclusivity to Origin maybe?

But I do agree that multiple sources does work. I'd just be leary of EA - and I even buy their games :P

Given that the release date is right now expected to be August 2013, I'd say in a year at the earliest....

As to Origin, I have never used it and never will, but as long as something is not exclusive to it (and needing an Origin account makes it exclusive, even if I can buy on Steam or in retail and not just download from Origin), I do not care that it is there too.

Because origin is a terrible service and program that does not need to be supported.

Really? How many users use it? Do they deliver terrible money that GD developers do not need to take?
It has nothing to do with someone's ego. It's just business and common sense. You always try to convince Crate to "stop supporting" services you personally do not like. If Crate will hear every one they will not deliver the game in any way as every way possible is disliked by someone. Think about it a while before shouting your "most correct" oppinion in the air. Any developer needs distribution services. And any one can be put to good with simple precautions. Neither Origin will deliver "bad" money to GD nor GD will become a bad game just because it is selling on Origin as well as everywhere.

Origin does not need support. It along with ea is something that should just die. Even if I don't personally buy it from origin by it being put on origin it is supporting and giving money to origin. You might view ea differently but I see them as a game ruining, dev strangling, studio destroying greedy son of a bitch with no thought for the consumers other than the money they have.

Origin at best is a bad programmers attempt to copy steam and should just die.

It is Steam, GoG.com and sell it yourself. Origin means you are associated with them and EA is just bad. Want proof ? Why anyone would be associated with them is beyond me. You are only fooling yourself if you do. Common sense ftw!

so the guy who shops on origin shouldn't be able to buy Grim Dawn because some disgruntled, bitter "users on the internet" kicked and screamed, whined and bitched about something that absolutely doesn't affect them?
steam should be able to hold a monopoly on digital distribution because "hey, competition actually sucks!l0l!!"?

you can download Grim Dawn from Crates website once its released, meaning it doesn't matter where else it is distributed from!!
