Default Pet Suggestions

For some classes, instead of pet animals, why not bring along a steam powered robot or a gatling gun mounted on something..maybe steam powered legs?

Anyway, all I'm saying is, pets are not limited to animals

GD isn't steampunk, though there are guns.

Eh? GD is set during the Victorian era of the Industrial Age, so there could very well be steam-powered machines. A pet could also be clockwork. I think that would make for a very cool pet of some sort..

Indeed, kind of like the Dwemer spiders or Steam Centurions from Skyrim..

I'll go with a Error-37 companion that's like a broken steam-based thing but maybe also provide a defense shield (best at lower levels).

I think the pets can work like the "healing" Raven that are class-based and just add a little fun in the darkness.

Steam-powered things wouldn't turn GD into a steampunk game, would they? Official distinction in Will this be a steampunk game?.

I think advanced robotic pets would collide with the whole world setting no?.

From what i understand the world in Grim Dawn have been broken down to basically a wasteland, we trade with Iron and salt and all that.

As magic isn't a stranger in the world i think that make the most sence, to summon forth beasts to aid you in battle.

BTW: Are there any deeper lore i could read up on except from the About page?
