Someone suggest Paysafecard on the youtube channel and I checked it out. It seems like it could be pretty good. It is available in many countries and I did a search and found 10 locations in Hamburg Germany.
Let me know if anyone has actually tried it and can confirm that it works. Thanks |

Do you mean use paysafe to back the kickstarter-project or for what?

Yes, someone suggested that paysafecard might work for that.
Getting a lot of people who are upset we can't offer PayPal. |

How is it that Wasteland 2 was able to offer Paypal? Did Brian Fargo have some strings pulled for him based on his name or contacts?
Not sure if it would cause more harm then good, but a basic alpha is also probably enough of a deliverable to bypass Paypal's issue. I realize that there is likely not enough time for you to put this together at this point. I will mention that Desura allows you to pay for Paypal for games like StarDrive and Project Zomboid which are still in the early alpha stages. Last edited by Kardiophylax; 04-21-2012 at 01:22 AM. |

@AskPayPal on Twitter is probably a good place to start. They've banned a bunch of people and later reinstated them due to the negative publicity it caused. Like Medierra has posted before, we're open to finding an arrangement that will allow us to work with them, as everyone else seems to have been able to do. |

It isn't just Brian Fargo, there are plenty of companies using the donation button and collecting money for virtual goods that aren't 20 days away from shipping who PayPal never bothers. I have no idea why they decided to single us out. Someone must have been having a bad day.
Unfortunately, it isn't about producing an alpha. We are perma-banned from PayPal until the end of time and beyond. I already attempted to call them and ask them how we could change our business to be in compliance. I even suggested we could mail a physical item so they could track it (even though that would be costly and ridiculous) but they said there was nothing we could do. Did I run over their dog or something? I honestly don't get it. |

Kickstarter isn't listed on the paysafecard website, and it doesn't show as an accepted payment option on kickstarter.com.
There are also some people on the DoubleFine forums who say it does not work. I'm one of those who can't contribute, I'm not upset because I know of the trouble you had offering an alternative with PayPal. It's just a shame not be able contribute to help you make this very promising game even more awesome and also not be able to get into the Alpha/Beta because of this. |

Paypal became really successful over a very short amount of time so they grew too fast and some stuff was left behind in this case customer-relation. I think they are like "what do we care about 1 or 2 unhappy customers, we got more than enough".

Hi medierra,
I can remember some of the old discussions about PayPal, Credit Cards and alternative ways like paysafe card etc.. I was also one of those people recommending paysafe card in the past, and I would still like it as an option... Paysafe card seems to be a really good alternative. Here in Austria, I can just go to any gas station nearby and buy a paysafe code worth 10 or 20 Euros for example, the code can be used multiple times until all the money has been spent. For the customer, it works without registration, so I can also pay quite anonymously which is important to me too - I don't like to give away sensitive data over the net. When I heard about the kickstarter project you were about to launch, I got very excited and was hoping I could finally support the development of Grim Dawn. I would have done so even in the past already, but back then it was also credit-card only, which is still a no-go for me. Now, I havent pledged for any game via kickstarter yet, so this was quite new for me - and I got disappointed again, when I saw the only payment option now is amazon payments - and they also only take credit cards. which I don't have, and if I did, wouldn't like to use. €: I read some of the suggestions, like buying an amazon voucher with a paysafe card etc, or using prepaid credit cards.. the latter aren't really 'free' as well, they often come with monthly fees or extra administrative charges etc. and it all gets quite circuitous sometimes, if I have to take the detour and combine various methods.. That is why I would welcome any other, more 'direct' alternatives so much.. Good luck, all the best Bob Last edited by Bobcat; 04-24-2012 at 11:56 AM. |
