Yeah, we had bows in TQ with unlimited ammo. No reason guns should be any different.

I would have to agree with most every one. Its a nice idea but I would think it would be more trouble then its worth in the end.

With the flintlock pistols it wouldn't work, seeing that they only carry 1 bullet. But there could be other guns that do have clips..
As far as originality goes; the closest game to this genre I know that uses guns with cartridges are the Alien/Zombie shooter genres, which uses reloading. Dunno about Space Siege, but that would be a bad example regardless, it's a game filled with wasted potential. Well, popular opinions has spoken against my propositions. Again. Lol

I could see it being neat myself, if it was very easy to get an idea of remaining rounds in your clip at-a-glance, if reloading felt responsive, and if it made sense in terms of balance with guns intended for burst damage or something.
But I think the average player would just see it as a nuisance. I'd imagine most would hold down the fire button expecting it to work like it always have in these games, and just kinda go "what the hell?" when their character stops shooting. |
