Binding of Isaac

Anyone else pick this one up? Figured for less than $5 not too much risk...well just finished my first game (ended in death) and it's pretty neat. I'd say it's basically a rogue-like mixed with a Zelda game (the NES version).

My only complaint is you can only play it in a window...and on a 1980X1050 screen it's rather small. Didn't know about this before hand and tbh not very happy about that...but it's still pretty cool.

The art style (enemies, really) is really done well and I like the story setup (think a twisted version of Abraham being asked to sacrifice his son). Gameplay is pretty basic you move around and shoot stuff. Through the randomly created dungeons though you find new items and powerups. There's shops and bosses strewn about as well.

Love the music...adds a lot to the atmosphere of the game.

Difficulty...it's like a rogue-like and I already died in 10 mins so it's a game designed around dying...a lot

Correction...you CAN play in full screen...just press 'F' to switch too it. AHHHH! Much better

Kinda weird though there's no option menu on the title screen.

Also wish the game had native controller support.

i heard of the game looked nice, figured i'd buy it on steam but it has yet to pop on sale window :O

I was going to pick this up, but a mixup with Green man had me blowing my gaming budget on Shogun 2 instead, for a heck of a lot more than I wanted to part with for it.

I'll see about picking it up with the coffers fill once more.

SMB was one of my favorite games of the previous year so I have been looking forward to this!

Guess the game did pretty well yesterday...and apparently the developer made some promise that if it did do well, there would be FREE DLC

So there were a few minor bumps with the launch, came out a few hours late, the launch build was actually an older beta build without achievements and minor music issues.. but we were able to update asap and patch the issues right away.

For most of the day Isaac was the #2 highest grossing game on Steam! amazing stuff! thanks to everyone who picked it up and did video play throughs, podcasts and livestreams of the game, its been yet another surreal launch experience .

It might not make sense to most, but launching a game really takes an emotional tole on you regardless of how the game does, so i really want to thank all of you who went out of their ways to live stream the game, sent me awesome emails and fan pics, you really picked me up.... so now to give back!

Well as i mentioned in my previous post, there has been a lot of talk about a Halloween patch next month if the game was received well, this is obviously the case. So on oct.31st be ready for a very dark and jam packed FREE update to isaac, that will add a lot more to the game... but 1st.

So for less the price of a happy meal this has turned out to be a pretty good purchase!

bought the game recently and i'm enjoying the hell out of it.. curerently beat the game REAL final boss with Cain and trying to acheive the same thing with Judas.. though have yet to succeed

For $4, it's a pretty great deal. The game kicks my ass, though. I've gotten close to getting the first ending a few times, but that's about it. I guess dodging's a skill I never learned before...

haha some of the later enemies are indeed a bitch... i just got the dont get toutched within the basemenet acheivement (1st two floors)

imo try and get Cain (55$) because his lucky foot item at the begining even though you have 1 less heart than isaac and 2 less than maggy.. will help you ALOT item wise on the long run

I somehow managed to unlock Cain and Magdalene in my first two playthroughs. I was using her exclusively until I realized that hearts are no substitute for great items in this game. I've been using Cain ever since.

oh hell yeah, once you get a hold of the enemies, its really not that hard to dodge, working for the not getting hit acheivement, rather hard though :P

but yeah my fav is Cain, followed by judas, then isaac, then maggy.. and i have yet to unlock the last char

Need to beat the game 10 times to get him.. im on the 4th heart kill

4th mom kill acheived... i find it MUCH easier to rack up for damage upgrades rather than anything else... but that may be just me :P

killed 2x with cain.. 1x with judas (baller run with him) 1x with Isaac...

and i have yet to even kill the 1st stage of mom with maggy -_-
