Yeah, it's not just the class thing though. I mean when an item drops that my friends might want, I have to pick it up and drop it again for it to show up for everyone.

I can see how that's preferable for playing with randoms and people you don't trust, but it feels very policed when you're playing with friends.

Is it normal that all the buttons are greyed out (except for options and exit)? From what I'm reading in this thread I understand that there's some hiccups, but I can't even try to log in a game from the menu...

Just did a play through as a monk and it took a little over 2 hours or so, with exploring everything and getting kicked out once.
I doubt they have all their servers running, couldn't connect to Europe so had to play on US servers, but the game ran without problems once I was in. It wouldn't be much of a stress test if they put up all their servers when there'll be far fewer this weekend than when it launches.

Having read people complain about Diablo 3, that it's too much like WoW and too light I have to admit I don't see it. It feels like a Diablo game and it's darker than Diablo 2. I think the only reason I remember the first Diablo as darker is because I was 14 when it came out. So far I like it although I fear I'll end up really hating the skill system. One advantage is that you play your style not your build, the disadvantage is that there are no builds.

While the beta part of the game is extremely easy, I have to say I like how much the add to the difficulty when you play co-op, suddenly standing in the middle of things could hurt a bit, and killing wasn't nearly as fast.

I was playing a bit as a demon hunter, clicking on monsters and seeing them die. You know the drill.

I found myself not enjoying it much... at least as a demon hunter there is a constant pace of just keeping your distance and clicking. I'm saddened by the fact that I can't have two weapon sets to switch between. Being able to go between melee and ranged seamlessly would have offered up some great variation and made it a bit more fun. On top of that, the fact that you hardly get to make any choices as you level up makes my character feel not like my own.

On a lighter side (ironically) I really like the mood and atmosphere of the game. It's dark and somber which feels like the proper Diablo mood.

But in the end the gameplay just feels slow and constant... not my cup of tea. I guess I have been turned into a speed freak after having played the Ys-series of games. So much fun!

Oh yes, also, I got booted out of my solo game and could not log in again. Stress test beta aside... that would not have happened at all were it not for this forced on-line play.

Addendum: looking forward to Grim Dawn and Torchlight II. ^^

That sounds seriously annoying, half the fun of playing with friends is arguing over loot and trading with each other because of it!

I knew the online aspect was going to be the death of D3, for me anyway. I got to take 3 steps in the beta before it froze, and then I have not been able to log in since due to the full servers.

I couldn't get it to work either. Don't know if it was my Internet connection or not, but regardless, this only reaffirmed my opinion that I won't be playing (buying) Diablo 3. Not because I don't want to, but because I cant.

Like I've said before, FU#% You Diablo 3...and FU#% You Blizzard !
I am NOT going to support your hostile DRM.
Ever since WoW, you have become twisted and loathsome.
But that's okay, cause I still have plenty of alternatives.

It was nice knowing you, but you've gotten ugly, and I've found someone new.
Don't bother trying to make amends, because its far too late for that and I've made up my mind.
It's just best if we go our separate ways.
Don't let the door hit you on the arse on your way out.

Diablo 3 pre-order CANCELLED !

I figured out that I had my username was my email adress, rather than just yerkyerk...

So, I could log in. Well, sorta, I got an error that the servers were busy or something. Here's hoping they've got their stuff fixed within the upcoming 2-3 weeks...

I hope they get it fixed within the next 2-3 HOURS! I'd like to at least try it out... I miss the days when you could actually DEMO a game before buying it. Oh, shareware, how I miss you... I want to go dig up an old Software Labs catalog from 1992 and cry.
