heh you can tell just by the main menu all the money that has gone into this game. I feel it's a reminder about how much of the "feel" of D2 is mostly nostalgia (if not for the game specifically, but the era of 90's 2d sprite games in general) and how it may not be possible to replicate that feel while still updating the game and polishing it to a mirror shine.

I reckon the servers should be ready for May 15, so they should be able to handle the increased traffic. And this is basically a demo, they'll make a very bad impression if the servers are overloaded, since it's an online game. Still, your estimation wouldn't surprise me, lol.

People are pretty lenient when they call it "beta" instead of "demo". It blows my mind sometimes seeing what people will put up with as long as they can go "it's just a beta" in defense of pretty much anything.
I'd imagine that even if the open beta crashes and burns in every possible way, most people won't be phased as it's easy to think you aren't playing the "finished" game.

I suppose after all these funds, years of development and closed betas the game should be polished by now! I think i'll probably try the monk and the witchdoctor. If they fail this beta weekend for me they will have failed launch.
