Heh I had that problem in Dead Space 2. With vsync I could go make a coffee, drink it, and clean the cup before a level had loaded. Without it I didn't even get to read the loading tips.

Cool didn't know that...wonder if medierra knows any of the people working there.

Anyways, glad I wasn't the only one to enjoy the demo

I do indeed. The lead system designer Ian Frazier was one of three gameplay designers on my team at Iron Lore. He worked on both Titan Quest and Immortal Throne as a gameplay designer then was lead designer and producer on the DoW: Soul Storm project (I didn't actually work on Soul Storm, I was on another team working on Black Legion). I very much enjoyed working with him.

I'm not sure who else worked on Reckoning but there are a few other ex-Iron Lore guys who joined 38 studios, including the animator Brian Labore and FX artist Travis Dogget. They might be working on the MMO though, I'm not sure.

Mind you all i'm not saying the game is bad.. i'm just saying that unless the issues that i layed out are fixed in full release (which i'll wait to know after release) i wont buy it..

If they are.. i will buy it.. maybe not at 60$ but.. eventually will.

I guess i was just overhyped

I had an issue when I tried playing the demo, couldn't see anything on screen with post processing up. Screen was completely black and when it came time to play it was like "Find your way out of the dark!" So I wasn't sure if it was intended or not since I couldn't see ANYTHING.

Turned off post processing, can see perfectly. Odd.

Not very impressed with it tbh

Asylum, I had the exact same issue and had to google an answer. Apparently ATI cards and Reckoning don't play well with post-processing enabled, in the demo anyway.

I've had a couple days to reflect. The demo is sitting unplayed since Tuesday.

My personal cons include:

-Open World look with a very closed box reality. Too many invisible walls everywhere I turned.

-No ability to jump. I'd be okay with this if the invisible walls weren't so prevalent. I keep trying to press space to jump and end up rolling around. I hate games that tell me when I'm "allowed" to jump by pressing a certain key.

- Poor GUI design. I was allowed to scroll through items with the mouse, but had to press enter to equip them. Very console feel to the menus that did not take advantage of the conveniences of a mouse. Skyrim has this same fault, but it is also very moddable.

- Storytelling seemed pretty cliche and did not interest me. I think I may just be tired of seeing gnomes and dwarves. Also the conversations had very ODD animations at times that really took me out of the game. The radial dial and conversation selection box did not appeal to me. Asking questions beyond the one highlighted as being important seemed pointless as the answers were uninspired.

- Enemy AI was too noticeable. Why when I am being attacked by 6 enemies are only 1 or 2 of them trying to come at me at a time? I wanted to feel more threatened. I have read this is by design similar to Assasin's Creed. I found it to be yet another element that took away from my immersion.

- Nice looking world but poor character models. The world was colorful and different, but the characters were bland and poorly drawn in my opinion.

- Potentially interesting loot system hindered by a horrible UI and Inventory management UI.

- Unrealistic Shields appearing from nowhere when shift was pressed. Would much prefer it be held in hand when readied like in Skyrim. I did however like the magical barrier type shield item I found.

What did I like? The combat was fun, sort of like Darksiders, but unfortunately is held back by the other elements. The magic spells were flashy but fun to use. I liked the fact that I could do a Mortal Kombat Scorpion "get over here" to pull enemies towards me.

Might pick this up on the cheap at some point. Not going to be a full price purchase for me like Skyrim was. I don't think I'll get 100+ hours from it.

Once the game comes out there is so much to explore D: I might even forget about the gnomes
(You start at that red dot I assume)

I really hope this game is worth the money especially because i only have enough money to get one game.I dont have a job right now and i am having some very unpleasant and debilitating chronic medical problems. I have been waiting for this game because it looks like it is gonna be good even though to me it seems like it is missing some gameplay elements that a traditional rpg would have included years ago.

From my experience most of the games that have been coming out are more hype then they actually are good, but i believe that 2012 will be alot better then the last 5 years, atleast i am hoping it will. I really want to try Skyrim and most of you would probably say that it is better but i am worried that i will get bored with it.I know it is an awesome game but for me oblivion didnt hold my interest so i am worried Skyrim will have the same result. Part of the problem is i just feel poopy and so lately alot of games become boring quicker the normal for me.I still want to attempt to finish oblivion one day and Skyrim is at the top of the list for me when i hopefully can return to work and earn some money.

I am downloading Amalur demo now and i am getting full copy on release day. That is unless demo completely blows. If i remember and dont feel too shnity i will post my thoughts.
