I really like thrash metal. I figure I'll do a top five, it's simpler that way. I feel like a metalvangelist.
![]() Megadeth - Rust In Peace A progressive thrash metal masterpiece. The track is full of great songs, with lots of guitar solos. It's Megadeth, after all. Favorite track: Hangar 18 ![]() Hexenhaus - Awakening The guitar work on this album is spectacular and the vocals are quite good. To me they're the epitome of excess. Just when you think you're getting a nice riff, they toss in a guitar solo. Favorite track: Necronomicon ex mortis ![]() Anacrusis - Screams and Whispers This album is very progressive with a number of sounds you normally don't hear in thrash metal. The vocals are very unique and the songs are generally more interesting? than most. Favorite track: Brotherhood ![]() Coroner - Mental Vortex Coroner is basically thrash metal's rush, a trio with lots of interesting arrangements. This is a later album and shows a lot more modern influences than their more traditionally thrash works that preceded it. Favorite track: Divine Step (Conspectu Mortis) ![]() Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death Morbid Saint's only real album. Not only is this album fast as hell, it is has some catchy riffs and great Kreator-esque vocals. If there was ever a band that personified thrash metal, it'd be Morbid Saint. Favorite track: Assassin

I have heard of Amon Amarth for a long time now, but never tried to listen to it. I believe this has to change. What album should I start with?
