Default Gore. Blood, guts, and massacred enemies

So I noticed in a video I watched yesterday that TQ did not have any gore (im right, right?). Then I remebered, "holy shit, I remeber looking at this game. I didnt buy it because it looked like a teen version of diablo without gore"

So then I watched the grim dawn footage for the 5th time now and I was pleasantly surprised to indeed see zombies exploding from critical (or perhaps normal?) hits.

Question is, will this game have more than blood and the occasional zombie exploding? Will boss's have gorey death animations that make it that more satisfying? Considering how it is mature, and im pretty sure this can go under the catagory of "hack and slash" there should definitely be some good gore, no?

Im going to make a poll just because. And for the lack of a better reference, Ill use diablo 2.

I voted for the amount Diablo 2 had...I think it was the perfect amount. Combat was bloody and nice amount of gore just walking around the levels (not over kill). Dead body here, person hanging from a tree there, ect. There was other areas that were really nasty though like in the swamp area where you would walk behind the stairs...very cool. I think it's important though to balance/pace the gore though as if you throw too much out up front (and all the time) those moments where you walk into a bloodbath cease to have the same impact.

there shouldn't be too much blood, some blood would be good, but if it becomes too much, then I think that will be a bad thing, but from the combat video, looks fine to me

dohohoho.

Really regret not knowing about TQ earlier, I might have been able to vote on that one.

Very true, but I voted for more than diablo 2. Because there where times when diablo 2 was lacking it. Chapter 1, a critical that does 10x the amount of hp a zombie has wouldnt ever explode it. Thats BS. Zombies explode when you hit them hard. Grim dawn proves this axiom. And chapter 4 is nothing but disgusting demons bleeding all over the place, but when you meet that blue angle guy its actualy the lack of gore that scares you. Its like "oh shit, hes not spilling all over the place, he means business".

This reminded me of this:

I never played Diablo during its heh-day and I have tried numerous times in the last couple of years. But even with the screen resolution mod, just cannot get past the graphics.

Hehe. =)

Well, that's a pity, really great game. =) But I get what you mean..same reason I am unable to play the first two Deus Ex games, even if I know how awesome they are, damn..stupid modern graphics and me being too spoiled! =((

But enough with off-topic, ehm. =)
