Sadly, I found the game lacking, but I did not give it much of a try. Am I missing something?

Nope. Its a nice boost to the M&B combat engine but it just feels like an add on as opposed to a full game. Its fun for what it is but gets "meh" quite quickly.

just got a beta key yesterday, so chances are i'll give it a try over the weekend

Also got the key, but it turns out it requires Windows Vista and DirectX 10, which i don't have sadly...

Oh well, i'll play the game when i upgrade i guess.

I just came top on a server... felt no joy or sense of accomplishment and logged off.

Think I may be done with this one the second day.

The kickstarter game Chivalry looks like it might be a better alternative if you're looking for this type of medieval combat. I'm not a backer personally, but just thought I'd mention it for some of you who didn't enjoy War of the Roses as much as you thought you would.
