Default Dear Milwaukee Brewers (sportsball ranting)

Do not sign Jake Arrieta.

Don't do it.

Remember Jeff Suppan?

Don't do it.

Matt Garza?

Don't do it.

Do not sign Arrieta. Especially don't sign him for 5 years. And don't pay him 15 million a year.

Don't.

do not

please

no

I assure you, you will still be a middle-of-the road team with a season record of just over .500 with or without him. So save the money! and the heartache. And your farm system.

Pitchers and catchers report in less than a month.

NL Central is a dumpster fire, which is good news for the Brewers, as the only way they can compete in the division is if the division sucks. And it does suck!

Cubs need to re-tool after that epic run at the Series in '16.

St Louis probably has 1-2 more seasons of rebuilding unless they go absolutely hog-wild on free agency (which they might, they've done it in the past).

Reds are gonna be bad for a couple more years, before they elevate themselves back to mediocrity.

Pirates. My other favorite team, just because of their similarity to the Brewers, and the fact that Pittsburgh itself is like a less racist Milwaukee. But yeah, they have a quick rebuild to do this year as well.

Keep in mind - The Reds, Brewers, and Milwaukee together spend about what the Cubs do on payroll, and St Louis isn't far behind that.

I may head over to Arizona at some point during spring training to try to catch a game or two. I've always wanted to, and I finally have the funds to be able to do it.

Signed Christian Yelich and Lorenzo Cain (again).

Makes a lot of sense for a team with 5 starting outfielders.
