That's a bit disappointing...
The Archers use weapons similar to two-handed crossbows, so flat damage does apply to them, as guns / crossbows count for weapon damage. You are correct that the Mages do not benefit from flat damage.

Added casting order to the OP for people who like more visual cues.

I wasn't expecting there to be a no MI setup that would serve as a good gateway for people using a Deceiver pet build, but the Desecrator Covenant set gives a lot of good pet OA and damage bonuses and the Deceiver's Chaos RR helps to concentrate damage toward Fire / Chaos. I've messed around the devotions to concentrate toward Fire / Chaos RR and damage.
