Default Seven: The Days Long Gone

I just came across this title by some spastic random click on Steam. It's like the games Thief, Baldur's Gate, Fallout, and Shadow's Over Mordor decided to have an orgy and their progeny is an isometric top down red-headed step child.

It's available on December 1. And the trailers for the game look intriguing to say the least.

I heard there is just one big, gigantic area in the whole game.

Not sure where you heard that, I heard about city, forest, swamp at the very least. Unless you mean it is one large area in the same way GD is.

Had this on my wishlist for a while. Looks like it needs a lot of polishing, though, and they kept stripping down the customization options until now there seem to be none, though there are vague promises about future DLC. Going to wait on this one.

Let me say something right here: looting each item takes a couple of seconds. Let that sink in for a moment. The first guards already drop like a dozen items, there are plenty of crates to loot for junk and each item takes 2 seconds to pick up.

I don't care how awesome this game is, if I have to spend anywhere from 5 seconds to half a minute simply looting this is a huge no.

I pity the guys who'll waste their time with this.

I had this on my wishlist for months, I'm a bit of a stealth addict. Bought it just now, played for a few minutes only. It's very well optimised, my two year old laptop runs it at 40 fps at the highest settings. Voice acting is fine, if very British.

Also you can press a button to loot everything at once. The two seconds for each item is actually a mechanic to make pickpocketing a bit of a challenge, the target might turn around while it's counting down.

More later, this should be a good one.

There is a difference between looting a dead corpse and pickpocketing a loving person. It shouldn't be the same. Also when you press Q there was still the 2 seconds for each item. And even if there wasn't most of the time you have to pick what you need anyway instead of grabbing all the trash. So welcome to the biggest time waste ever conceived in gaming.

You call it a waste of time, I call it realism. Looting some guy you just killed doesn't look good when a patrol comes by. All these (tiny) time delays are, to me, just a way to make you think about your actions and add some risk to obviously illegal actions.

If I wanted realism I wouldn't be playing video games. Instant looting has been a thing since world of warcraft, probably since the inception of rpgs, lol
