Default Reading Lovecraft before the Xpac

Since there are Lovecraft references all over the base game (and a Cthulhu-like monster in the xpac) I figured I'd spend the next week looking over Lovecraft's works to see from where else the GD team might have drawn inspiration. A huge amount of his writing is available for free here: http://www.hplovecraft.com/writings/

Shouldn't this be in the "What Books are you reading?" thread?

Oh, probably. I don't browse this section of the forum often so I didn't already know it had its own topic. In retrospect, considering how heavily GD draws from Lovecraft, I don't think it's entirely redundant to have a separate topic though.

I did read all his works when i was a youngling (16/17 yrs ) i had an edition with several volumes chronologically ordered. His first work were just generic gothic stuff , not very entartaining. Maturity i a different story, that divinities pantheon he invented and that peculiar otherwordly atmosphere trasuding from those tales is just charming. It's not a case everybody remember him for that, well and for being a xenophobe but that's another story.

Did you know there are people in this world who actually believe his works are non-fiction?
