Damn thee brain.

First gave Unknown Mortal Orchestra a listen a couple of years ago since it's an offshoot of the NZ group The Mint Chicks, and didn't think much of it, but now I got the urge to listen to the track Multi-Love and now I'm hooked.

Oh and The Mint Chicks were f*cking excellent, pretty much played Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No!* (alas, no bandcamp) to death. Sadly only saw them play live once, but it was worth it. Their last album before they broke up, Screens* wasn't punk, more indie rock, but still pretty damn good. So much so it's been a long term feature of my work playlist. Exhibit a for why: Hot On Your Heels, sorry about teh quality.

*Sorry, spotify was all that was available /sigh Still, they're one of the better ways of getting to listen to stuff you can't otherwise find via youtube or bandcamp.

The Courtneys - II is really growing on me, tis quite fun to listen to. Then again, I'm a sucker for good rock/punk etc.

Also been listening to The Darkest of Hillside Thickets - The Shadow Out of Tim (top pick - Blackout), Sleater-Kinney - The Woods and The Coathangers - Suck My Shirt while I was doing work on bicycle. Replacing spokes and truing a rather out of true wheel takes a fair bit of time :P Less rolling resistance now and it's less than 1 degree out of true, but of course I noticed the rim is dented inwards towards the hub by less than a millimetre.

Such a feel good song. Always puts me in a good mood to hear it.. and I don't even understand the words.
