Default Multiplayer Class Suggestions

We're going to start a 4-player game on this week. I kinda get the short straw by default as far as mastery and class picking goes. It kinda looks like a non-pet Cabalist, Warder, and Purifier are going to be the other three. Because of how auras and debuffs work, we're trying to keep from overlapping masteries.

So I get left with Nightblade and Arcanist - a Spellbreaker, if that's what I want. I kinda don't want to go with that, because (in no particular order); IEE won't do much for me, SBs are hard to gear, and awfully squishy, and I already have 2 cold-damage dealers in my stable.

I was thinking that I could go aether based spellbinder, as Necro doesn't really have the same 'competing buff' problems of other masteries. Or maybe Infiltrator or Mage Hunter? I don't see a real problem with 2 Inquisitors either...

Just throwing it out there to see what ya'll think. We're obv rolling new characters for this, so damage types aren't really an issue yet.

Play a trozan breaker. FAR FAR FAR easier to gear, and extremely potent.

http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74301 <-- A guide on it I did some time back. There's a link for a 'budget breaker' in there with 0 greens.

Thanks!

You say 'far easier to gear' - than what? An aether-binder?

I'm not entirely certain - but the krieg set is MI yes?

Not too sure what the drop rate is like so I can't comment. Mindwarps are rather hard to comeby though.

That being said, binders are possibly one of the most versatile classes to play, and are also IMO the most powerful class simply because of mirror/mot.

That's kinda what I thought - It should be easy to gear through normal, and fairly survivable. Am I correct in thinking that there's really no problem with overlapping Necromancer skills? It doesn't seem to me that there would be.

I could also probably go melee infiltrator for much the same reason.

But definitely keeping that Trozan build in mind!

All depends if you want weapon damage or not... 90% of my GD characters have been weapon and DFW characters. Well, almost all of my RPG characters all time, really. Never been too big on casters. TQ got me into hybrids, and hard thanks to Heiruspex and Templar. (I think - Spirit/Hunt and Dream/Defend).

I was running a Dream/Spirit caster around the time I bought GD. Time Bubbles of Destruction, plus pets.

Not a problem at all. If it's purely for multiplayer, moreover a fixed setup you could just agree on who takes what buff. E.g. if there are two soldiers and one is going to naturally pick up Squad Tactics - okay, saves another points for something else, e.g. early Warcry.

Necromancer, Inquisitor, Widow devotion, haunt relic
Legendaries - Warpfire, Band of Eternal Haunt
Some item skill modifiers later in the game.

Thanks! I almost forgot about da bomb. And that relic is exactly what I was looking for.

This is what I'm thinking about for early levels...

Using Bone Harvest to proc Aether Flame. After that, it really depends on what I find. Maybe CT? I dunno.
