Well, who knows if there's even a truth to the whole story.
It is definitely and interesting story, and makes one scratch ones head. Motives could be that they are in trouble and just want out/cash out... could also be that they are looking for additional investors to help their current situation, not thinking that they'd be bought out and carved up. It might even be to just test the waters to see what their market value is, and what the market value of certain products/creative houses are, or if there is any interest in people acquiring certain parts of EA now...

the only thing for certain is that it is not usually a move made by a 'strong' company.

lol :P

I expect Blizz isn't going to be making much this year. WoW numbers are in decline and that is where their steady income flow is. I'm not sure MoP is going to do as well as expected (i know my wife and I aren't buying it)... and the whole D3/RMAH fiasco? Not sure how much they are making there with the falling userbase. I recently read a rumour somewhere suggesting that their next MMO is going to be a F2P mmo where users can use real money to buy items on the side. if that's true, I really don't know what to think. Not sure why they would leave such a successful model that WoW has had. All I can think is that of all the people leaving wow, many are also citing "monthly costs" as a reason.
