That tells you the total damage the skill does based on your % bonuses, etc. That has nothing to do with the number of casts per second though, and without that you can't calculate the actual spell dps.

Its looking like the only option here is to go manually time some spells and try to figure it out

You can reverse engineer it with some simple math as long as you have your final dps (which you do), your damage-per-hit (which you can reasonably sum together), and dividing by your cast speed relative to 100% (which you have).

Casts per second differs from spell to spell. It is entirely dependent on the length of the base animation at 100% Cast Speed, and nothing else. Cast (and Attack) Speed is a multiplier for an animation's playrate.

That's on the second tab of your character sheet. On the first tab you have info about main stats, Health etc. and dps between Defensive Ability and Armor Rating. Hover with your cursor over it and you'll see the damage per second of your LMB skill, RMB skill and your default weapon attack.

Thanks, I didn't realize it showed that for spells, thought it was only for weapon attacks. I'll check it out tonight

  3. -n% Resistance

Let us say we are fighting an enemy with 80% Fire Resistance, and we have:
  • Plague Bearer's Prefix (lvl 41): "18 Reduced Target's Resistance for 5 Seconds"
  • Olexra's Flash Freeze (lvl 9): "-46% Fire Resistance"
  • of the Abyss Suffix (lvl 46): "30% Reduced Target's Resistance for 3 Seconds"
Either the Plague Bearer's Prefix or Olexra's Flash Freeze would be applied first, so:
80%-18-46%=16%
Then the "of the Abyss" Suffix would be applied:
16%*(1-30%)=11.2%.
I see a contradiction...

However, if you do it with, say, Shadow Strike (which gives 330% Weapon Damage at 16/16), it will only do 18 Reduced Target's Resistance, not of 59.4.
Does this mean that skills which do not have a weapon damage % component will have no effect?

If that reduction comes from outside, then yes.
If it is part of the skill, then it'll work.

How does bonus flat damage contribute to your dps work when there is a range vs no range.

For example, if i compare two bonuses and one says adds 1-100 flat damage, and the other says adds 50 flat damage, do these average out to be the same?

Or if it it says adds 50 flat damage, does it mean for every hit i do 50 more flat damage (essentially it adds 50 to my minimum and 50 damage to my max damage).

1-100 means that to each attack you add a value between 1-100 to your wpn dmg. The value is drawn from a uniform distribution.

50 means to each attack you add 50 to your wpn dmg.

In other words, if there's a flat value with no range, let's say the 50, it can be read as 50 - 50 damage.

1 is the minimum damage, 100 is the maximum damage,
50 is the minimum damage and also the maximum damage.
