Just finished the Artificer fight. Really easy but super fun fight. I'm up to level 29 now:
![]() My skills: Sword & Board - 6 Bulwark - 6 Aegis of Fate - 2 Shield Bash - 3 Seismic Slam - 8 Coup de Grace - 1 Heal Bot - 5 Gun Bot - 1 It does seem like Engineer is the class of choice for most people's character right now. Most likely I'll do Embermage next, but that's a ways off still. Edit: Oh, and my Ferret's name is "Snookums".

I'm going against the grain then, as I'm an Outlander (and am loving duel wielding pistols
)Here's my Outlander with her companion - "Scorn".

I also started out as an Outlander, Dual Wielding is great! Then "the" curse struck me, no decent guns for 12 levels so stuff is taking ages to kill - glaive has become my weapon of choice.
Twinked an Embermage and having fun so far with wait for it, Dual Wands

Can I have the bear rug behind her as a pet -- instead of taffy?

Ok, on the serious side, steam version or direct from runic?
Does the runic version have that torrent? download manager like the demo? I like steam but I dont want steam integration -- community (overlay...), cloud, or achievements messing things up. It is one of those things were off doesnt mean off but mostly on but not completely on. |

I normally set my pet on passive and hope it stays behind me most of the time but if I had the bear rug pet, with the war paint on its face and all, I would in all good conscience, have to let it attack things.

My build so far (if I remember correctly, I am at work now):
Lvl49 Engineer, Veteran difficulty, Act3, 2 handed. Skills: http://torchlight2armory.com/skill-c...J-sTaInU8aol6O Skills I use mostly(only): Onslaught (my favourite) - to get in and out of combat (the later is very important for me on Veteran, as I've been doing it a lot lately...). Also, it stacks with Immobilization Copter (the attack slowing part and others), which makes it an ultimate tool to disable enemies. =) I tried Storm Burst, but it did not give me the same satisfying results in regards to mobility. Emberquake - nothing, literally, survives this precious! I cannot compare its dmg to Flame/Ember Hammer, but this think just obliterates stuff! =)) Heavy Lifting - no brainer, the stun is great for Coup de Grace. Supercharge - this is beast, kinda low proc, but with Heavy Lifting it is quite decent. The Charge gain is awesome thing. Healing Bot - amazing pet, heals a lot and with the tier bonuses, it stacks awesomesoucely with Aegis of Fate. Gun Bot - as was said, this little one does great deal of damage. With tear bonuses, you have only 30s window without it, which is perfect. Shock Grenade - very high chance to stun enemies, shock enemies and interrupt them, awesome CC. Sledge Bot - Nice additional dmg for 1 point (so far). Its Cleave and Rocket tier bonuses look promising for aoe fights later. Bulwark - Great defense passive, no brainer. Fire and Spark - Not sure about this one, I would like to make a kinda physical/elemental hybrid (if loot allows me to), right now I am using awesome Physical/Lightning unique 2h mace from a wright boss, and this passive could boosts its (and all others I might find later) damage to sky heights. It also boosts damage of many of our attacks. Charge Domination - I like this one, but I do not want to rely on it, so I prefer Supercharge instead, which gives results while fighting, not after I kill a mob. It is still good while clearing groups, just not the boss fights.. Forcefield - This is your only reliable defense skill I guess, a must. Also, it stacks with Aegis of Fate quite well, making you invulnerable for quite a long period. Overload - If you happen to find yourself at full Charge too often, you can always release it with this little aoe. I am still not sure if this has higher damage potential than Emberquake though. And having both of them seems like an overkill, as the mana cost is same/similar. This one may get handy if there are any fire resistant monsters later on (new game+). So I dunno right now. Dynamo Field - when there is enough monsters around, you may use this to help you out with getting Charge. I am still not really sure if the gain is enough though. Immobilization Copter - as I said, this combined with Onslaught is just brilliant disable tool. Even by its own it is great. I wonder how much damge will it do with the 2nd tier bonus... =) Aegis of Fate - no brainer, unless you go with some light armor gear. Charge Reconstruction - not sure if the healing is enough later on. Its usage is easy with Forcefield being almost always on. Stats: STR - a must for high physical dmg DEX - I will go for 75 at max, which would give me enough crit and dodge chance. The rest will come with gear. Anyone else finds DEX kind of useless in this game? FOC - I must say, I am tempted to pump points into it in a 1:1 ratio with STR to increase my elemental damage potential as I talked about above.......still have not decided yet though... VIT - a must, especially for new game+ (I guess) and even the later Acts of Veteran difficulty. I will probably aim for something like that: STR - 175 DEX - 75 FOC - 100 VIT - 150 If I do not decide to go the FOC way, I will have STR - 225, VIT - 175. Gear question - what do you find the most important defensive stat? I am pumping resistances at the moment, but I was thinking of the health regen gems...not sure if 20hp/s per a gem is enough though... A suggestion - gamble, gamble FUCKING LOT! The unique drops are very high there, I got like 5 uniques (yellow) yesterday for around 20k gold??? Awesome, haha. =) PS: Do not forget you have 150 skill points (level ups and fame ups). PPS: Anyone else completely broke? I am running with <15k gold most of the time...heh.

I'm in act 2 and already broke from all the potions, enchants...nothing left to even attempt gambling. With gambling is there a trick to increase your chance at getting good gear such as a gem in your pets inventory?
Is it me or doesn't the game allow you to farm content? when I log in the maps are just as empty as when I logged off. Can't farm for gold/gear. |

Quote:
Gambling is quite cheap (Act3 gambling cost me at lvl49 only ~2,5k gold for rings and similar for other stuff I think). No idea. I am not sure I know what pet gem are you talking about. I guess MF gear helps. I have some passive spell, that increases MF by 5% and around 3% on my gear. But god knows if it counts in, maybe I was just lucky..but so many times? =))) Anyway, if you are gambling for some specific stuff, prepare your gold, buy all the pieces, if not successful, go to some location and then port back, the gambler's menu will be resetted. You can farm content, there is a "Reset World" button somewhere in the Main Menu of the game (or Load Menu, not sure now). Try googling it if you cannot find it there. The button resets all the monsters spawns, maybe even the bosses (not sure about this one, I guess so though), it also resets the fog of war I think (the blackening of the map), so beware.

Had a short go with an Outlander yesterday evening and it was quite fun. So when I'm done, I'll surely go for a dual gun outlander next *hrhr*
Btw, here he is with a unique 2h-mace and the full regent-set. Didn't think normal would be THAT easy, else I would've chosen veteran right from the start...
