A recent post in off-topic suggest that there wasn't enough discussion going on here. I thought about it and realized the problem is that, without the game being out, there aren't any bugs or imbalances for people to complain about or build strategies for people to argue about.
So I thought maybe it would stimulate some healthy discussion by announcing some of our new features! In Game Advertising - we're looking at product placement and billboards for products like Red Bull, Axe Body Spray, and Viagra to generate additional revenue. No Town Portals - Without work there can be no satisfaction from reward. We thought the game would be more satisfying if you had to walk everywhere. Plus think of the added sense of danger when you can't teleport out of battle! One Button Combat - All attacks and skills will be controlled with the right mouse button. Most skills will be passive but some active skills can be triggered by different patterns of clicking. We think this will make the game much more accessible to the casual audience while still maintaining a lot of depth for hardcore players who memorize the click patterns. |

I heard a rumor in IRC that:
DRM: Crate will be working with both Ubisoft and Sony to create the most impenetrable DRM to date. Users will need a Sony Station Account, that will then log into a a "Portal Account" that will act as a 3rd party remote launcher that will be required to log into the dedicated activation server. Users will have to maintain a perfect active connection between both servers and if the signal is lost, your save game will be deleted and the game automatically uninstalled from your computer. If you wish to reinstall the game you will have to pay a $10 licensing fee for a new CD Key.

DLC:
Whatever happened to that deal with EA to make every chapter of GD a DLC? Players can look forward to added chapters to be released every few months with an undetermined price (depending on if medierra needs a new yacht). It would work perfectly with the DLC loot plan that makes all drops purchasable through the CRATE/EA/Bioware download store!

Is it also true that you will be requiring the "Crate Community Launcher" similar to Rockstar's that will be required to be running in order to launch the game yet will provide zero functionality other than to sell DLC and take up resources?

Lol, Well, it's a topic I posted about before, and I still agree with the general concept of danger in a game that has monsters trying to kill you from other realms.
Though, I think just putting a cooldown on the town portal mechanic would suffice in most instances. If it's restricted you can't say "I'm about to die, time to leave and go to town where it's safe." If you've been following Diablo 3, then you know exactly my thoughts on just about every mechanic. Hahahaha.. ha...haha... This is still a good thread though.
