Interesting top 10:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news...Played-PC-Game I never would have believed that LoL could beat the crap out of World of Warcraft like that - they got twice as many hours logged. Minecraft hits third place - that's quite astounding too. Congratulations. It's very nice to see a small indie title with inferior graphics mix up the big AAA releases. And Diablo III - although only available for half of the measured 6 months time span, still at an respectable fifth place. According to the creator of the statistics, at the current rate D3 might surpass WoW during the next year. Seems like D3's player numbers aren't dropping nearly as rapidly as many ex-fans claim. |

Interesting, but it is a limited sample size. I would expect to see WoW's number climb dramatically if it were to include all gamers. i don't use Xfire... and I hesitate to relate how much time I've

I'd theorize that LoL players have a larger bias towards using xfire than a WoW player due to voice chat, but it's still an impressive feat. Glad to see that it's doing well.

I agree with Roros, the inclusion of VOIP in a game definitely has an impact on these numbers, the question is how much. |

When you´re currently looking at Xfire stats it shows a continuing decline in activity. They went from 140k to less than 17k in less than 2.5 months time. |

Who the hell uses Xfire for voice chat only... compared to teamspeak (free), mumble(free) or ventrillo(also free), why?...I mean it doesn't even have as many features as the others...
Most of the people I know as well as the streamers don't even use Xfire, period. And those streamers play around 12 hours a day on average.. |

I think since many use it for a lot of the other features (social overlay, video recording, screenshot cloud sharing), I guess it creates a bandwagon effect where you use the app for other reasons so that's just where you hang out on voice, and that's where others have to join for voice chat even if they dont use the app for anything else.

For the statistics, it doesn't really matter how many people use Xfire; as long as the userbase is high enough. It's all relative. Xfire doesn't show the absolute number of players, but it does show trends.
