Any chance that these things will make it into our grubby hands along with the playable game at the same development milestones?
What about via pre-order offerings? Example: $15 more dollars at each support level also unlocks the Toolset. So Grim Dawn Pioneer Modder Edition would be $50 and would include everything in Grim Dawn Pioneer Edition, plus the Toolset @ Beta. |

Releasing the tools at those stages is highly unlikely as they will still be actively iterated on as new assets and tech come online.
We will release the modding tools when they are ready. ![]() On the bright side, I am taking the time to add documentation as we go, which should make modding all the more approachable when the time comes.

Thank you Zantai - documentation is a tough part of any software development, but this will be great for GD. I do not know if you ever visit the TQ forums, but TQ is still going strong because of modders. This is excellent news.
And to the OP, while this may seem like a source of income to Crate, if you look at TQ, there were only a handful of talented modders out there and my bet is they want to play the game before getting their hands on the toolset. |

For some people, modding is almost as fun as playing the game. (if not more). So the motivations behind the post are the following: 1) Increase usability of modding tools by getting feedback from interested modders earlier in the product life-cycle. 2) Generate some extra pre-ship capital for crate, which can feed back into the game development, or the modding tools themselves. Not a huge deal if it doesnt happen. But I do think that getting the modding tools out earlier for feedback is only going to help the ecosystem. Which might just take that talent from a handful up to a barrel (or more). |

Honestly. Thanks for the reply. I am glad you are taking some extra time to add documentation. If you even wanted to give sneak peeks of the docs as you write them, I would read it. |

I've never been a modder, never had the patience for it. Until I started playing the Elder Scrolls series on my PC, in which, they always released a construction set. Not sure if thats exactly the same thing as modding, but once I took the time to figure that out, I did that ALL the time. After I beat the game of course ...
