Alright, I tried to map out a detailed Devotion path, so I'll post it here in case it helps anyone. Please let me know if there are any mistakes.

From the suggesting path in the original post, I wasn't sure if maybe it should be possible to get Wendigo before Abomination, but I didn't see a way to do it. I think the two red from Wendigo are necessary to unlock Abomination.

Crossroads 1G
Scorpion
Remove Crossroads 1G
Crossroads 1R
Rat
Remove Crossroads 1R*
Viper
Manticore (skip point in back foot)
Crossroads 1B
Behemoth (can skip last 3 points for now*)
Lizard
Remove Crossroads 1B
Wendigo
Finish Behemoth
Hawk
Scholar's Light
Abomination (skip two points in right arm)
Crossroads 1Y
Ulzuin's Torch (first three points)

*optional, to get ahead, since the final build has this point back in

Had you considered Eel instead of Lizard? They both give the necessary affinity.

Lizard
  • 15% Regen
  • 80 health
  • 16 HP/s Regen
  • 30% Constitution

Eel
  • 2% Chance to Avoid Projectiles and Melee
  • 37 Defensive Ability
  • 10% Pierce Resistance
  • 4% Movespeed

I know you lose out on +15% health regen, but you do gain 2% melee/proj avoidance and 4% movespeed. Since you're stacking melee/proj avoidance already from shadow dance it makes it more effective too. Just curious on your thoughts as to the two options.

I don't know if you're asking me or the original poster. I just used the constellations that he used in his build link.

But it's a good point. I think Lizard is mainly there for the blue points, so probably it's not necessary in and of itself. If a different "blue" constellation gives you benefits you prefer, you might as well take that. I do like the health regen from Lizard though, but the DA from Eel could be handy as well.

This build has a lot of health regen, so lizard goes a long way.

What rings/legs/boots should I use if I don't have anything even comparable to those?

I just started the build and it feels...different, but good

I have only played 3 toons before, gunslinger pyro clvl 60, physical forcewave commando clvl 70 and DW Nightblade clvl 80.

This whole DoT thing feels nice - but I have a question:

What about choosing Arcanist as support...i was thinking of something like this:

http://www.grimtools.com/calc/eVLXddVG

The whole Occultist is pretty skill point tight

Stick with Witch Hunter or Witchblade. Warlock works but to reduce gear dependency while maintaining QoL i'd go with WH or WB

Thing is Poison (DOT) is hard to screw up so even something like a Poison Pyromancer or Poison Conjurer works well

Good to know its foolproof

I skill as i go atm, so i got CoF up to slvl 4 and it was a game changer for me...

But now approaching clvl 20 i dont know how to go about staff...pump mastery bar...and which skills in DEE shall be prioritized...i remember reading one of the skills was pretty useless in this line...

Well i will just see how things develop and once the time has come to take 2nd mastery i will copy the savegame...

I mainly put points into the first two. When you unlock the others, put a single point in them, but I think it's the AOE that you want to prioritize.

This is what I look like atm:

http://grimcalc.com/build/1009-DH46Uc

I am clvl 26 on Vet, with 3 skills point left, and with a blue offhand with +1 to occultist and a nice green weapon with +1 to DEE and BB and poison and acid dmg. All stat points go to life, 10 free left. DA and OA at approx. 560+.

My hp are 3200+, element res 50+, the bottom line of res 30+ aside from stun that sits uncomfortably at ...0

What shall I prioritize now? DEE and the 2nd skill BB? or put some points in BoD?

Equipment wise, what stats shall be a priority?

I noticed mobility is a riority as getting used to a different playstyle...hit and run, always moving. Run speed and CoF are a must for me atm.
