N Y D I A M A R

Current Features of Nydiamar
  • Hub, where you can consider a build, buy equipment, and test your build on training dummies
  • Enemies, roaming the world of Nydiamar
  • A detailed world, with currently following locations:
    • Prelude
    • The Edge of Eternity
    • An Abandoned House
    • The Cruesle Canyon
    • An Outpost
    • The Faywell Impact
    • The Yamuna Forest
    • The Lorshade Mine
    • The Strange Well
    • The Flooded Mountain Woods
    • A Graveyard, of course
    • The Tomb
    • The Entrance to the Catacombs of Qud
    • The Catacombs of Qud I - Main Hall
    • Nehada Desert & Ancient Ruins
    • ... and some minor ones
  • 2 different play-throughs
    • Start out with level 85 / 100 and consider an endgame build to beat Nydiamar
    • Start out with level 1, 15 or 45 and progress by your own through quests and just playing the game
  • Working riftgates with a custom map
  • Fun items, to have fun with (complete custom set with 'over the top' skills)
  • 5 unique quests with many rewards

*snip* ... since I already reached the char limit (30000) for this post, I moved some information to a different one.

About the different ways to play Nydiamar and how to start. Please read this before playing.

You can use an existing character from the main campaign.

I recommend you (if you play my mod for the first time) to start out with level 15 (by using the 'Head-Start'-option) on Normal difficulty. This is a great way to enjoy Nydiamar without being overwhelmed by the new mechanics, locations and overall difficulty.

If you decide to start a level 85/100-play-through, better do it on at least Elite. Ultimate offers a great challenge and is recommended to experienced players.

If you don't care about leveling and farming or don't want to consider a solid build, you have the option to make yourself literally immortal and 'cheese' through the content.

You can easily switch to the actual campaign of Grim Dawn (and back), and continue playing there. Everything carries over. You need to restart the game before you change the mod, so the world map loads correctly.

DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION (Size: 29.6 MB) (Patch 2 included)

-- Extract the folder to your 'mods'-folder in your installation directory. --

The expansion 'Ashes of Malmouth' is required.

Create a new character (always better, but not necessary) or import one from the main game.

The mod may be occasionally (really) performance demanding.

Set reflections to off in the options (disable them)!

Set shadows to at least medium or higher in the options, since the way I did the caves in the Desert & Ancient Ruins requires shadows. This is required.

This is the source of Nydiamar, like in the brackets stated. Enjoy lurking around.
DOWNLOAD (Source) (Size: 89.2 MB (Download) / ~1100 MB (Unpacked)) (Latest Update, patch 2 included)
Note: Locate C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\. Open the file Tools.ini and make sure that the line additionalbuilddirs= is additionalbuilddirs=%INSTALLATION PATH%\gdx1 & additionalsourcedirs= is additionalsourcedirs=%INSTALLATION PATH%\mods\gdx1. This is required to be able to view everything correctly in the World Editor.

Very very beautiful job, man... Unfortunately, idk anything about monsters/quest creation, but I hope you can add all the gaming/playable stuff into the map soon or find people to help you with it... the forum needs more map mods.

Keep it up!

I loved the screens the first time you posted. Somehow, they look even more awesome now. Downloading it and will give it a run in the morning.

Pretty sure that what you have done is a million times harder than dropping a bunch of proxies together, in any case, I would be more than happy to help if you need it.

Amazing work!

If you need/want any assistance with making enemies, feel free to ask.

On the other hand, if you do figure out how to get a custom riftgate map working, let me know. I've been having lots of issues with that in Zenith.

Really detailed and atmospheric, I definitely like it. Some forest and foliage can make the correct path difficult to figure out, so it kind of impacts the immersion, even with it's beauty. And I really liked the town.

Good stuff Van Houck! I had tried your first iteration back then, it was beautiful. You won't mind if I have another peek.
