Default Advertising the game through humour...

I was just thinking to myself how funny the clips must be that medierra mentioned regarding zombies heads getting stuck in walls etc during battle.

Why not put together a compilation of all the hilarious results of the physics (not from bugs) in battle and other crazy moments (insta-gibbing a mob of 15 say), make a youtube montage clip and spread the word?

Those kind of viral videos always seem to do well, and I personally think it would be a great way to bring attention to the game, even if it maybe isn't the way you would prefer to market it. Just getting people curious should hopefully do enough to then bring more fans and followers, and if the clip goes up on those sites like IGN/Joystiq etc it can surely only help?

Yeah, I was thinking that as I was making the video. It is a good idea, just need to find the time to do it. I imagine, at some point in the future we'll put a lot more time into advertising. Probably once we release an alpha and get it into reasonably good shape. Right now I almost don't want people to pre-order (except that the revenue is very helpful) just because of the pressure of more people waiting for us to release.

Once we have something playable out, I think that will relieve a lot of that pressure, or at the very least, transform it into a new kind of pressure?... heh hmm

Try not to stress too much over it Medierra, people know what to expect when they pre-purchase, at least I'd hope they do.

As far as I know, we all want you to make a great game, I can't imagine anyone wanting to rush you, that doesn't help the people who pre-purchased or you.

Do some meditation; clear your mind of all those negative thoughts.

Sounds like a cool idea, maybe alpha testers can submit amusing videos to a dropbox account and anyone with talent in video editing can go awol and make something that is actually capable of going viral on youtube. That could lead to a lot of sales.

Don't feel any pressure no ones rushing you. Take your time makeing the game. You should feel the good about people pre ordering. "This games gonna be great people pre orderd it when we only had like 3 pictures" Think positive.

I think this is something we should leave to the dedicated fans. Once the alpha is out, the possibilities for fan video promotion are open.

Captions to exploding zombies screenshots?

"I am so not cleaning that up."
"Well...they were nice new boots."
"Uhm...medic?"
"Kibbles and bits and bits and bits..."
"An' I was gonna get me an ear."
"Warning: Not suitable for audiences without a pulse. Viewer Discretion is advised."
"Brains? More like brained."
