hey,
Can we know what system hardware was used for the pan-around video that's in the media section? The details look amazing btw! The leaves on the trees, gras, etc... The only reason i ask is because i work with hardware alot, and its a general interest. If we can have an answer can we also get the exact settings (like resolution, dx version, AA, tessalation perhaps?? ^^....) Not that i'm worried my rig wont run it, it's fearly young : corei7 920 @ 3.4ghz, 6gb ddr3 1200mhz, 2 x msi gtx560ti 1gb (twin froozer, oc'ed), ocz vertex2 120gb ssd. thnx |

Also interested in finding out the hardware specs for that video.
I'm currently looking at upgrading my system again (although it doesn't really need it, still TQ:IT Uber mod will all settings at Max and no slow downs), and would like to konw if tessellation will be used, or is even planned on. Especially if there will be any type of DX 11 effects for those that have the hardware... |

Sounds like you have better hardware than me.
I'm not sure I fully remember all the settings but I think it was only 2x AA and 2x AF. Can't remember resolution but I think it may have been 1280x1024. I had the settings taken down a notch just because my main computer doesn't quite have top notch hardware and it can get a bit laggy when trying to run the game and capture video. The computer I used has the following specs: cpu - i7 920 @ 2.67ghz ram - 12gb vid card - radeon 5800 series 1gb I think that is probably more ram than is really even useful with the game but I have it for working with giant files in photoshop, 3ds max, and the editor. If I wanted to spend more money, probably what I'd have done is gotten the crossfire card with 2 gpus. I have one on the new alienware laptop and it can run the game on max settings while recording video with almost no noticeable loss in performance. (hmm, I wonder why I've been recording all this video lately?...) I'm not sure why exactly but the game looks much better on the laptop than it does on my desktop even with exactly the same video settings. I think it may just be the difference in monitors. My desktop monitor is an old 24" dell flatscreen and it isn't exactly the most vibrant picture... so maybe that's it. |

wow, the graphics look really nice with the settings you mention Med. I'm amazed how smooth it looks and how polished as well! Now your in trouble 'cause i now have even bigger expectations for GD ^^.
And yes, in your line of business a lot of ram is needed for large calcutions. Nice rig btw! I dont see 2 of those gpu's are absolutely needed, as the 5870 is a really good gaming card. And ermmm "hmm, I wonder why I've been recording all this video lately?... like the poster above said; "you're makin' us really curious with statements like that!! haba haba " Bring on the pain!

No, you definitely don't need 2 gpus. The game runs really well on my desktop, usually above 60fps with just the one. Another nice thing is that you can drop a bunch of the video options and the game still looks pretty good.
