Because localization is normally part of the publishers job, how will it be for Grim Dawn? Are there any plans for localized versions for European countries or Asia? Perhaps you can involve fanbased communities from different countries to do this job and to realize a worldwide start of Grim Dawn in many language versions. It should not be so complicated to provide them with lists of dialogues, items and other descriptions. Also action rpg´s are not so much into long text passages, foreign languages are still a barrier for many gamers.

You can rest assured our friends who speak other languages are not forgotten. Whilst we can't commit to having support for specific languages at the current time, we will definitely be exploring the possibilities before release.

Does that include (proper) English?

I'm a professional translator with lots of experience in this type of games and I'd love to volunteer to help translating the game into Spanish, the 2nd most spoken language in America. Moreover, a good localisation will certainly render the game way more attractive to the Spanish community who seldom buy English-language games.

Well, I'm not a professional translator, but I'm quite fluent in English and could help with Portuguese translations if needed. And, well Brazilians more often than not won't buy games in English. =/

Definitely more to explore youe should be looking for help to do the Localization (Spanish, French, German, Italian).

One of the big things that made Titan Quest a great game is that we could play in our own language, the audio was in English... but the texts are in our own language, very important.

For example, "Divine Divinity" only english, great game but don´t pass to the history in the hispanic gamer lists.

To finish, there is a lot of people dedicated to the translation of games, for example for the spanish localization, Such "clandlan" community, this people do a great job of translation, many times better than the "professionals."

I can help, (I am a French teacher and a translator (from Japanese to French, but I understand English without any problem)) to translate some files into French (for free) if you want, or correct files already translated. Feel free to ask.

Define proper.

English English, rather than American English. You know, lots of extraneous letters (Us, a few PHs & so on) & either an upper class or cockney accent.

Yay for necro-threading. :)

Well i think localization isnt really important on Hack&Slay games of course there wont be much work anyways not much text to translate.
But common most text should nearly anyone able to read (at least the important part DPS/speed Strenght and whatever else on items/skills)

ĦSaludos Crate Entertaiment!

Talking we some guys of the spanish forum, they say me that are considering no buying the game just by the language problem.

My recomendation:

There are many translators on this forum disposed to give a hand to translate the game into different languages, many are professional.

Not do like the people of Torchlight, who release the game only in English, this caus that there are less people disposed to buy it.

There are many examples of games left into the limbo, as Divine and Divinity Benyond, Dawn of Magic, etc. You dont need to place videos or animations in the game with the voices in diferents languajes, but the text are very important.

Gracias por leerme!!!

Excellent news Rhis. :)

I'm currently playing Mythos a bit & the low standard of the translations really sticks out & makes it less fun to play (amongst other things).

of course there wont be much work anyways not much text to translate.
Only if you don't want any quests, including the main quest. And if that's the case, you might as well have it take place in an arena, that way they can reduce the amount of art work that has to be done & probably increase the FPS/speed of the game...

What got me to buy TQ and TQIT is because it had support for both speech and text in French. Whomever did that did a fantastic job, well above expectations, it was like candy, it's going to be tough to top that kind of quality but I hope Grim Dawn will have at least very good translation quality.

Hey,

I could volunteer for Czech translation, if it was any help to you (Czech version of TQ was selling pretty well here if I remember correctly, although we are pretty small country speaking of sales in general..so, yeah..). I would do it for free of course. =)

Though I must say my English is not that great, I would do my best, heh.

So, if you were desperate, you know who to PM then! It could also take me a little while, as I am busy guy having harem of three girls at home, so count on that. =))

EDIT: Probably the "best" offer I have ever made for someone, lol. =D

I want to buy the legendary version but I have two questions:
1 - The game will be in Spanish?
2 - moved to System requirements

Excuse my for my low level of English: P

Not sure about other language support. I imagine we will try to get it localized to other languages at some point but I'm not certain whether that will happen before the initial launch. If we can't provide localization ahead of launch, I think there is a good chance people will eventually grab the localization files and produce translations.

If Spanish is a requirement to purchase, you may want to wait though until it is certain that Spanish localization is available.

Hello Medierra.

There´re many modders that will doing translation for free, some time after the release... but, why you dont asking here?, maybe there are many translator to do the translation for a good price.

Really, I know about many translations amateur that are +1000 better that the "professional". For example, translation in spanish check in "ClanDLan" (check all the translation that this people have) (http://academia.clandlan.net/). You can talk with the admon "Inmortality" (is a girl), maybe you cant doing a great bussines.
