Yeah, it's still good. Just waiting on the devs to announce something new.

Best $20 I've spent in a long time :p
What is going on with the game these days? I have to admit I only visit the forums occasionally and there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity.

Like fate they sold their PR to another company.
I just wish they would keep a franchise for once.
Don't get me wrong, those guys are really awesome when it comes to fan support but now who knows when we will get another TL2?! hmm

There's like 2 really good mods in the works since the release of TL.
The robot class and this mulitplayer mod. However, they are keeping it closed and it could turn out to be vaporware... as though they are trying to land a job or use it as a stepping stone to advance in their career.
It's a big tease to all the folks following that thread.
If they really want to share the joy of creating such a mod, they need to release some alphas and betas to the community to show progress instead of youtube videos... sigh

Yeah the modding community has seemed to quiet down. Perfect World doesn't seem to be slowing Runic down at all, and with all the money Runic was paid (somewhere around $20 million), I hope their next game is very good. They have hinted that they are working on something aside from the MMO, and a possible console port. But i don't expect any news until the end of the year at the soonest.

Yep, I'm glad they are still in business unlike what happened over flagship studios.

Of course, I know this could be vaporware (and I'll be pleasantly surprised when it isn't).

I was surprised to see nothing much came of the Torchlight modding tools. I never dug that deep into them myself, but I was hopeful that some completely new adventures would be created using them. Instead, all I see are minor tweaks, a few new classes, and some new skins. After coming from the Mount & Blade modding community, which is immense and contains many intricate and involved mods (one of which I am proud to have helped develop), the Torchlight modding that was so highly touted pre-release has been quite a letdown.

I didn't mod fate until I felt really comfortable with it's code format and the import and export plugins.
The only thing I made was a sword pack and it was a bit confusing and that's coming from a guy that modded fate for years, lol.
I thought about creating an overworld for TL but time is something I don't have anymore :(
Maybe some young kid with lots of spare time will create such a world.
The TL editor aka TorchED (I named it by the way, yay me!) is a great tool.
It supports blender, a free 3d app.
In time I think we will get better mods.

Torchlight is $5 today on Steam for anyone that doesn't already have it. Good for about 15 more hours.
