Right now I would say my favorite is "Frank's RedHot Original Beef Jerky" Real Beef Slices . Naturally Smoked. It's totally expensive, but, by god there's no added MSG.

What's you're favorite brand?

I understand if you dislike meat and or don't eat it.

I like meat. But I think that beef jerky is one of the worst, American inventions. Dot.

P.S. What is MSG? Some chemicals?

QFT

I dunno, I'm not one to go out and try all the beef jerky types, but I've had your typical slim jim thingy, and I bought one from some apple orchard in northern georgia(weird eh?) made of buffalo rather than beef.

Can't say it tasted much different, but it sure was delicious!

Were Americans even the first people to jerk meat? I thought it was pretty much an age old thing to salt meat and fish to preserve it...

MSG is a preservative: Monosodium Glutamate. It's generally bad for you.

I like beef jerky and will try that brand, Scryer. We'll see how it goes.

I must have a really perverse mind, but this has never sounded right to me.

Well to "jerk meat" is a real technical term, as is to "jerk off" meat.. Why do you think people started using that phrase for what our perverse minds go to when hearing it. Its a very fitting term, that's why, lol.

How do I Jerk Meat? (http://www.wisegeek.com/how-do-i-jerk-meat.htm)

To make jerky of any kind is called jerking. Jerking meat... yeah.

If you do not have a precise thermometer and the proper tools, do not try to jerk meat at home

OMG LOL.

Ok this thread is starting to go over the deep end, this is beyond random lol

Isn't that article hilarious? Yeah, the whole art of jerking meat is way too innuendo.
