Settlers 7 (!!!)

Man... this game is so great!
I really recomend this for people that enjoy micro-managing and slow-paced strategy games :)

Anyone else playing it?

i kinda enjoy slow paced stragetie games but if its like civilization revolution that game is hack you lose a lot even if your unit is better and army hell kill it magically (or is it bad luck?)

i never saw settlers though

nonononono, Settlers is not like that at all. Its a economy game with a little war in it. It has sience,trading and war like Civ. but its nothing like it. I suggest you try out the demo. Tho the demo sucks... you wont understand nothing since it does not have a tutorial and Settlers is pretty advanced. Check out youtube for gameplay vids :)

I downloaded the demo but haven't tried it yet. I watched a lot of the videos and it looked like it could be fun.

Personally, as far as slow paced strategy games go, I'm looking forward to Elemental: War of Magic.

I haven't played a Settlers since III, as such I think I'll refrain from this until it drops to a reasonable price (such much more fun can be had from Europa Universalis for much less).

Man I remember playing settlers... 2? 3? in college. Was a fun game for when I was feeling too lazy to play RTS online. I wish I had time to play this...

You wish you would have time to play this. Before in college I play a skirmish in Settlers 6 for almost six hour per skirmish. Only play one though, can't indulge more. Actually I have feeling that it's rival SupCom in term of play time per game. Maybe because of my playing style though.

Yeah, and its no less this time. If you set up a game against 3 other AI's and rampt the Victory Points up to 20 you will have a game that could last for 20hours or so :)

I love the new victory points system. I've never seen it before in games and it ROCKS! You collect VP's by doing different things: e.g

-Doing VP quests
-Have a army thats bigger that 20 soldiers and bigger than your enemies
-Reseraching Special Technology
-Reaching special trading destinations
-Have more than 5 Prestige points and more than your enemy
-Conquered more than 3 sectors and more than your enemy
-Having more than 25 gold coins and more than you enemy

and the list goes on forever! The cool thing is that some of the VP's can be taken away from you. Lets say i have 25 gold coins and have the 'BANKER VP' then a the enemy raises 26. Then my victory point is lost and given to the enemy. Also if i have 25 and use 1 coin, then i loose my VP.

So sometimes it can be quite a battle for the VP's! ITS AWESOME :9

We should get rid of the main quest in GD and just have victory points :p

Once you have 20 victory points, you don't need :rolleyes: to fight the end boss but advance to the next difficulty immediately. :p

Yeah, my play style is trading. My victories are usually done by trade and a liiiiiiitle bit of military power. But i consider my self a trader :P

I still have Settlers 3 but what the ## about the bug? My weapon production turn into pigs! I can't even find patch for it. Or I'm missing something?
