One thing that i thought TQ lacked was Secret passages and hidden rooms, when i first started playing, i kept looking around for those hidden places and didn't find any. Is this something that is possible? and if it is could it be random? Would anyone else like this feature if it were possible?
Maybe something like a floor area that would open up to a spiral staircase leading down to a underground cavern or something.
Maybe each hidden room contains a piece of a relic or weapon and you have to find several to complete it.
Just a thought.

Huh? I thought we already have secret passage in the TQ (TQIT though)? Although it's extremely hard to get into it, but I got to kick medierra butt. muahahaha! and what is the story behind those 16 scrolls?
Anyway, secrets level, passage or secret quest is much much welcome. I think Dungeon Siege 2 make quite good example here (with his ghost, secret quest and many more).

Damn Arthur, that guy is such a push over, but then you kill him and BAM, you're laying on the ground, staring up at some sinister skeleton asshole.
:P
Secret Passages are cool with me. Actually, they are very cool. And the harder the better. Make sure to include dactyls!

Yeah right! Actually I knew about this when I at act 5 on epic. So I go back to normal and farm Hades for The Overlord. Man..it took about 15 times to get it. And then I got beat the secret passage in normal, while I'm at level 52. But then I want to immediately try epic, but yes, I got my ass handed back to me by Arthur, twice and then I don't want to bother with it. Not until I at least level 65 or above.
But the loots is the best I think I got 4 blues in first try. I bet in epic I will seeing some purple since many purple end up in epic and legendary.
I'm gonna finish epic today. And medierra, you got to think about the lightning in many final boss areas. Like in crystalline stellea and before the obsidian hall (the volcanoes). But I knew you already mentioned somewhere about this.
I remember doing this as well in the beginning wretched1. Also clicking on all kind of objects just to make sure if there wasn't a hidden door somewhere. It would be nice to have these things.
Dungeon Siege had quiet a lot of these "hidden" switches to enter some hidden place. Although hidden isn't really accurate as you could see them on the mini map. But still it was fun to have a look out for them.
If Grim Dawn developers decide to add secrets make their appearance in the world at random locations otherwise once one finds it all he is going to make a thread giving out their location & how to open them, not to mention they will loose their value once you open them all and you already know where they are.

I knew about the overlord passage, did that many times over. Loved the Santa Claus outfit and the pirate garb was cool. I considered the hidden area in TQ akin to the Cow level in Diablo.
I'm thinking more inline as part of the game play. How about a bonus to whatever armor or weapon you have equipped, along with a mini boss to kill & some choice treasures?

Something I'd like to add about easter egg sets :
Don't make them overpowered like in TQ. In TQ, if you had that cowboy set, chances are you won't drop it til you get some really nice legendary gear from hades.
As for what you're talking about now, I think you mean like how Dungeon Siege 2 had the secret areas? Move a key brick and the wall comes down and then a little elevator comes up with a nice chest? That's cool too.

I think random passages really add something to this kind of game. Although I felt HG: London ended up quite the mess, I really dug the random gates that would appear, and even more so the gates within the gates, lol. I think this idea could be even cooler if worked into grim dawn similar to how the OP explained. These could really help spice up the replayability of the more static locations, ie the overworld.

Everybody loves secret passages, hidden easter eggs. These features boosts replayability and game survive factor.

I think asking if people like hidden passages and hidden rooms is akin to asking if people love free money. :)
The only issue I can see with this is the developers having the time to do it. Now if more people start donating, they may have the finances to do so.

I for one love finding secret stuff in games - of course secret doesn't have to mean hidden, it can just mean hard to find our out of the way.
The mysterious cave in DS2 is a bit overkill - I mean it's just too hard to figure all that out for the average game. The Secret Cow Level in D2 is also fairly hard to figure out (without any spoilers), it's not like you're told in-game how to do it you know?
Of course, anything you do in game will make its way to the Internet - nothing is truly 'secret' anymore - but it is nice, as an adventurer, to be rewarded for exploring off the beaten path.
At the very least, see how Torchlight handles secret rooms - they're not hard to find, usually, but at least they don't show up on your mini-map!
