A friend of mine has made something very cool for the ARPG community, he has decided to revive that legend of a game that most of us have played.
But before you brush off this thread thinking it'll probably be a weak attempt at reviving the game consider the following (which are in-game as I'm writing this now):
*Gold is valuable
*Gems are more valuable than before and also very rare
*Runes are purchasable, however the change to gold coins makes them quite expensive
*No hacks or exploits what so ever, I mean it, he's acually running Warden (battle.net's cheat detection program) the way it was meant to be ran, if Blizzard actually cared about the game.
*Players Driven Content where the user's suggestions on new runewords, magic modifiers, uniques, features and other things will be considered.
*(Little piece of history here) Abandoned concepts such as tampered items (Clicky (http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/1019/tampereditems.png)) are being reworked and put back into the game.
*New cube recipes
*Bigger screen resolutions - the D2 graphics can't be upgraded but at least it won't look pixelated on 1920x1020 screen resolution.
And many more small details.
Interested? Then read on.
To become part of the revolution grab a flail and swing wildly, while you wait for Diablo to install, swing clockwise. Afterwards do this:

Optional:
d2ation supports d2loader 1.12a, which can be found here.
d2ation also supports D2Multires, read it about it here.
In order to play in better looking resolutions make sure you patch the game to 1.12a not the latest 1.13c, since the multiresolution isn't working on the latest patch (for now).
Oh and here's the site http://www.n2ation.com/news/
