Owners of the game each got a reusable code today that gives 75% off, putting the final price at around $5 I guess? I haven't checked.

Demigod is a DotA clone that's probably the easiest to get into between the current competitors. There's not as much gear or heroes you have to learn, and you don't have to worry about creep last hitting or denials. That doesn't mean it's "dumbed down", just that there are less arbitrary tactics and rules you have to worry about.
