A lot of this may already be in the planning, but I have to post it just in case. Some games fall short because they don't have these things imo. But I am sure others will disagree on some of this.
1 - Infinite storage space! Please! I hate throwing away any item lower than unique lol.
2 - Make the storage sharable between characters. (No need for mods like TQVault, just put it in the game in the first place!)
3 - I like the character inventory system of TQ and Diablo (grid of squares, items take up different number of squares depending on the item size - potions take one square, swords take 3 or 4 , etc). But please don't make the character inventory too small (like Diablo 2... TQ did a pretty good job on this really).
4 - Ability to cast a spell or something to go back to town or a checkpoint, that leaves a portal you can then re enter to get right back where you were. Mainly for easy selling/storage without having to re run over already covered territory. Has to be balanced of course, but that is where the developers come in :)
5 - Many difficulty levels, 5 seems best to me, and of course the higher the difficulty, the harder the enemies, but better the loot.
6 - Armor and weapons change the appearance of your character - I am guessing this is already planned but I have to say it.
7 - Ability to change the appearance of gear (dyes, and weapons have slots you can add say a fire gem to that gives fire damage, plus adds a glowing fire effect to the sword. Have to be careful on this though, don't want it to start looking like WoW, that is just too over the top.
8 - Sub Jobs! Like FF XI and TQ. Makes for the ability to make very unique classes. Final Fantasy Tactics has the best job system ever made for a game, so I would be happiest if you guys just blatantly copied that. But I may be wishing for too much now lol.
9 - This goes without saying usually, but some games forget (Torchlight), so I have to say it - the ability to customize controls and hotbars.
10 - Whatever you have to do to get a huge modding community going! I am guessing I don't need to say much more on this....
11 - Randomized levels and eemy placement (like Torchlight). Makes the game always feel fresh.
12 - At least one infinite dungeon (again, like Torchlight), that scales to your level.
13 - Nudity/sexy armor! This will probably have to be a mod, but I know when I have a female character and a mod like this, I cannot wait to get that next piece of armor to see what it looks like lol. It can be tasteful, not full frontal, like a chest piece that leaves some boob hanging out of the bottom with just a hint of nipple lol.
There are tons of other things I have on my mind but if I keep going no one will read this lol (if anyone even reads all this now will be surprising to me haha).
But I will be adding to this list as time goes on, mark my words, this will be a sticky eventually!! lol
Can't wait!!

8 - [...] Final Fantasy Tactics has the best job system ever made for a gameFinal Fantasy Tactics has been one of my favorite games. The job system is really great.

FF Tactics is my favorite game of ALL TIME lol. I can't tell you how many times I have played it, using all different types of team setups, and doing all kinds of challenges to keep it fresh. I have bought every version that has come out on any system just to see the little tidbits of new content they add lol.

Meghiddo.. underboob isn't tasteful. It's skanky. I can deal with the occasional cleavage or chainmail bikini warrior chicks and suchlike, but let's save the stripperiffic stuff for mods, like in TQ. I would prefer that the armors not look as stupid on females as many of them did in TQ, but I think they should be able to manage this without turning the game into softcore porn. For every grown man who loves your idea and is thinking, "Hell yes!", there will be half a dozen mothers telling their son, "Hell no. Put that back on the shelf."

Don't agree with everything - and a bunch of stuff is already in..
1 - Infinite storage space! Please! I hate throwing away any item lower than unique lol.
Infinite may not be necessary, but definetely a huge storage space. Since it's stored off-line anyway, filesize shouldn't matter. Not that it would probably matter if it was online as the files stored shouldn't be that big.
It would definetely be cool if we could get a room (in the hero's house - if that's made into DLC ofcourse) with a bunch of placeholder armors - which we can replace with armor pieces we found ourselves :)
Than finally the well-crafted good-looking but useless set items could get some use, as well as allow the player to customize his dwelling.

5 - Many difficulty levels, 5 seems best to me, and of course the higher the difficulty, the harder the enemies, but better the loot.
What could be interesting is give 5 difficulty levels - and allow players to choose their own difficulty at start. With the ability to proceed to a higher difficulty level once they finished the game in the latest difficulty (with the highest difficulty players can start at at number 4, because 5 would only be suitable for advanced characters). It might make a big mess explaining this properly to players though - and players should probably get all quest boni that affect their character stats from difficulties they decided to skip.
Or just go the Torchlight route and offer a bunch of difficulties from the start..
11 - Randomized levels and eemy placement (like Torchlight). Makes the game always feel fresh.
Hm, not too big a fan of that. Randomized caves, ok. But TL was extremely repetitive - you just can't make really interesting looking levels completely random. Outdoors fixed, indoor random, I'm ok with that though :)
Definetely random enemy placement.
12 - At least one infinite dungeon (again, like Torchlight), that scales to your level.
Dungeon/arena/cage fight. Anything that scales, is infinite and tells you how far you've progressed through it :)

What i would really like to see is the ability to hire other characters ingame and they will be able to level with you and you set there Gear like with Dungeon Seige and Mass effect.
But in Multiplayer all the hired characters disappear and you just group with your friends of course!

Hmm... I just had an interesting idea.
What if there were say, 5 mercenaries you could hire in town and each was a different class. You could only hire one at a time and while they were following you they'd gain levels and could use gear. You've heard this all before right? Well, what if you could freely exchange one for the other and when you did so, the old one stuck around in town and retained its level and items. Over time you might want to eventually level them all up since they could each be more or less useful in different types of encounters.
I don't think we could fit this into the initial release but it might be fun to consider down the road.

Hey you never know until you ask right?
1 - Infinite storage space! Please! I hate throwing away any item lower than unique lol.We will definitely be making the stash bigger. Not sure that it will be infinite but definitely bigger. The character inventory is also slightly larger. Potions stack to 99, so that should help.
2 - Make the storage sharable between characters. (No need for mods like TQVault, just put it in the game in the first place!)Easy enough - already done.
3 - I like the character inventory system of TQ and Diablo (grid of squares, items take up different number of squares depending on the item size - potions take one square, swords take 3 or 4 , etc). But please don't make the character inventory too small (like Diablo 2... TQ did a pretty good job on this really). It will still be grid-based and have variable item sizes. Although the different shapes have been toned down a bit so that it is easier to arrange stuff. The inventory is 1 row deeper, which allows for much more flexibility in arranging items since you can now stack up more sizes of items in a column together.
4 - Ability to cast a spell or something to go back to town or a checkpoint, that leaves a portal you can then re enter to get right back where you were. Mainly for easy selling/storage without having to re run over already covered territory. Has to be balanced of course, but that is where the developers come in :)Got it.
5 - Many difficulty levels, 5 seems best to me, and of course the higher the difficulty, the harder the enemies, but better the loot.Well, we've got 3, why not 5?!
6 - Armor and weapons change the appearance of your character - I am guessing this is already planned but I have to say it.Yep
7 - Ability to change the appearance of gear (dyes, and weapons have slots you can add say a fire gem to that gives fire damage, plus adds a glowing fire effect to the sword. Have to be careful on this though, don't want it to start looking like WoW, that is just too over the top. We've thought about stuff like dye. Not sure it will make the cut though.
8 - Sub Jobs! Like FF XI and TQ. Makes for the ability to make very unique classes. Final Fantasy Tactics has the best job system ever made for a game, so I would be happiest if you guys just blatantly copied that. But I may be wishing for too much now lol.Yeah I like this idea. We were going to do this very thing on Black Legion. I'm not sure we'll be able to fit it in on GD though. Maybe something to introduce down the road?
9 - This goes without saying usually, but some games forget (Torchlight), so I have to say it - the ability to customize controls and hotbars.Customize in what way exactly? Reassign keys?
10 - Whatever you have to do to get a huge modding community going! I am guessing I don't need to say much more on this....Nope, we're definitely going to try and make this happen.
11 - Randomized levels and eemy placement (like Torchlight). Makes the game always feel fresh.Who can say what the future may hold.
12 - At least one infinite dungeon (again, like Torchlight), that scales to your level.Again, who knows, might be possible...
13 - Nudity/sexy armor! This will probably have to be a mod, but I know when I have a female character and a mod like this, I cannot wait to get that next piece of armor to see what it looks like lol. It can be tasteful, not full frontal, like a chest piece that leaves some boob hanging out of the bottom with just a hint of nipple lol.Hah, yeah I'm not sure about this one... As someone already commented further down, not everyone would appreciate this.
Besides, there is a wealth of pr0n awaiting you on the internetz, why settle for a low-poly game model?! lol
Thanks for the suggestions - some food for thought here. It is always good to hear what is important to players so we can get a sense of where our time is best spent.

I've never played a game where the stash is big enough.:p
You could always make a function where we can spend gold/iron/salt/whatever the currency is to buy extra pages/bags/whatever for our stash...say up to 1000. :D

And what are you doing when you have 75 page full of items in gigantic inventory... that is boring to turn pages and search for the proper one...
I say that a goood balance need and trashed ones sell in shop or reuse as craft system or any new improvements....

I don't know about *infinite* stashes but there should definitely be something to satisfy collectors. I would know, i'm an idiot when it comes to farming in TQ and stashing away every damn relic, charm and unique i come across.
Even if most of it never gets used (TQ had this shortcoming, the uniques weren't often really unique, especially the blues were trashed and sacked by even most good greens), i still absolutely have to collect everything.
I won't rest until i have 100% of all blues, purples, artifacts etc. Or until GD knocks me out cold and drags me away from this place i only have one foot in anyway - real life.

Yeah, I didn't really expect the sexy armor idea to be implemented by Crate. And the TQ mod for this was kind of crappy imo. Torchlight had a very nice one though, that I really enjoyed. It just makes finding that next piece of armor that much funner for me :)

No silly hentia p0rns in Grim Dawn, please.
As far as the other suggestions:
1 - Infinite storage space! Please! I hate throwing away any item lower than unique lol.
Don't know about infinite...but yeah...there's really no reason to limit us so much. Actually...maybe infinite is the way to go (see next point)
2 - Make the storage sharable between characters. (No need for mods like TQVault, just put it in the game in the first place!)
Agree, and to be honest (and in conjuction with yerkyerk's point) give the player a house/fortress/whatever with an armory setup mechanically like the TQ vault. Let us store and organize our equipment. Let us display it too :D
4 - Ability to cast a spell or something to go back to town or a checkpoint, that leaves a portal you can then re enter to get right back where you were. Mainly for easy selling/storage without having to re run over already covered territory. Has to be balanced of course, but that is where the developers come in
Already in TQ???
5 - Many difficulty levels, 5 seems best to me, and of course the higher the difficulty, the harder the enemies, but better the loot.
I would really not prefer that...I think extend gameplay would be better. Trogging through the game 5 times just to get to the highest difficulty I think sounds overly repetitive. In TQ going through normal/epic every single time over and over again can be boring enough. I think instead they should have 2 maybe 3 difficulties and have epic challenges and things like that instead of making us muck through the game 5 times.
6 - Armor and weapons change the appearance of your character - I am guessing this is already planned but I have to say it.
I wouldn't see why this would change with Grim Dawn (over TQ)
7 - Ability to change the appearance of gear (dyes, and weapons have slots you can add say a fire gem to that gives fire damage, plus adds a glowing fire effect to the sword. Have to be careful on this though, don't want it to start looking like WoW, that is just too over the top.
Good idea...personally it's not something I'm that excited about but I get people like this kind of stuff.
8 - Sub Jobs! Like FF XI and TQ. Makes for the ability to make very unique classes. Final Fantasy Tactics has the best job system ever made for a game, so I would be happiest if you guys just blatantly copied that. But I may be wishing for too much now lol.
I like TQ's class system and really hope they simply improve it rather than try something else...
9 - This goes without saying usually, but some games forget (Torchlight), so I have to say it - the ability to customize controls and hotbars.
What...like WoW? I don't think it's necessary...TQ had a great interface.
10 - Whatever you have to do to get a huge modding community going! I am guessing I don't need to say much more on this....
Hope this happens too.
11 - Randomized levels and eemy placement (like Torchlight). Makes the game always feel fresh.
Personally I feel randomized levels is way overrated. Every level in Torchlight feel generic. While yes, in TQ after the 50,000th time through levels can get old, they are definetly more epic and look way better.
12 - At least one infinite dungeon (again, like Torchlight), that scales to your level.
I like the idea of a infinite dungeon or some kind of repeatable challenge...but no level scaling. I think this kind of content should be "end game" material. Maybe scale for normal/epic/legendary though...so you can run it towards the end in every difficulty.

5 - Many difficulty levels, 5 seems best to me, and of course the higher the difficulty, the harder the enemies, but better the loot.

I think instead they should have 2 maybe 3 difficulties and have epic challenges and things like that instead of making us muck through the game 5 times.
I did not mean it that way, I meant 5 difficulty levels, with at least the first 4 already open to the player, and maybe just the last one unlockable after a play through.
But now that I think about it, this would probably just mean you have the 3 regular, epic, and legendary levels, and the other two would simply be "easy" and "super easy".
So scratch that idea. It has been a while since I played TQ, but reading this reminded me how TQ did difficulty levels, and I actually think that is probably the best way after all.
But then again, many TQ players downloaded mods to make the game harder, or even multiply the number of enemies, so this may not be a bad idea after all, as long as the extra two difficulties were EXTREMELY difficult.
