Yes, I read in my e-mail that my d3 account has been banned due to terms violations. This would be completely understandable if I had actually done anything to deserve it. The only ways to resolve it is by submitting a ticket for action reversal or BUY A NEW LICENSE!!!:furious:
BUT the real knee slapper is............ I have not even been on d3 for the past 2 weeks due to work overload.
So what do I do naturally? I assume I must have been hacked and submit a ticket only to receive a response that the customer service forwarded it on to administrative review, then i receive an email from the all knowing admin review board stating that their action stands and there is nothing they will do.
I submit another ticket, with the exact same results and that they view the topic as closed.
Been a long time blizzard fan, who has never done anything to be banned, (to my knowledge.
Blizzard bashed me in the face, slammed me to the ground, and spit on my corpse. just passing the story on and to vent a little.
Looking forward to Grim Dawn

My WOW account was locked for reasons unknown after I had not used it for some time. When purchasing D3 I sent Blizzard a ticket requesting reinstatement and information as to why the account had been banned. WIthin 3 hours my account had been reinstated and they informed me that it had been being used to advertise gold selling. Blizz requested I change my password and all was well with the world. Hopefully it will be this simple for you.

Blizz doesn't just ban people for shits and giggles. I've known people (as Koovan states above) who were hacked, banned, and also had that overturned based on information collected during the period (blizz can tell what IPs you are playing from / are associated with your account, so can easily tell if you are hacked). They should have provided a reason in the original email - they often do.

I went through something similar. I hadn't played WoW for over a year, when I get an email from Blizz telling me my account had been frozen due to fraudulent activities. To be honest, I didn't really care at the time, as I wasn't playing.
Then I get another email about my account being permanently closed. Still, I thought nothing of it, until I got an itch for WoW again. I contacted their Customer Service to try to work it out, but they told me the decision was final.
So, rather than buy a whole new game + 3 expansions, I just began playing on a private server. It's a bit glitchy from time to time, but hey, it's free.

That sucks dude. Is there any way you can file a complaint somewhere about the lack of information they're giving?

I am on my....4th? or 5th ticket now asking them for what reason i was banned. Thus far i have been told, this punishment has been upheld and they change the ticket to resolved. that has happened twice the other two times has been the whole submitting it to their admistrative council and then saying no %#@& you. You suck.
No reason given. The only thing that comes close to a reason is in the original e-mail it states something about third party software, hacks, and cheats are not allowed. ALL of which i have never used.
Really annoyed.

Hacks, cheats, 3rd party software claims also includes exploits.
I find it rather odd that they won't go into details considering you were a customer. Most of the incidents I know where people were banned on my server/from the guilds I belonged to usually provided reasons.

Tell them to give you a reason, cause that's serious BS and you're a very offended customer.

I have asked for reasons like 3 or 4 times, after my last ticket they simply responded this issue has been reviewed by multiple reps and no one will respond to your tickets any more. I wasnt even rude (much) i simply asked for reasons why i was banned. They gave me nothing.
I am at the point of all out boycott on anything blizzard. Never thought a paying fan would get treated like this.....Moving on to better things i suppose.
Absolutely nothing I can do about it.

If Blizzard sells another game after the astounding failure of this one, I will be legitimately surprised. They definitely have locked themselves out of Diablo 4, and releasing an expansion into the current market would be like poking a beehive.
For all intents and purposes, I'd wager, Diablo is finished forever. Thanks, Jay Wilson, for destroying an entire beloved franchise in one fell swoop.

lol... there will be an expansion, and it will do just fine. It'll bring back some of the loved characters of D2 and I expect there will be talent tweeks and who knows, maybe an entire new skill system. Most of the people who swore off Blizzard will buy the game in hopes, and Blizzard will again have loads of cash.
That's my take on what will happen :P

Pretty much that. I think many of the side characters/followers could become playable characters next time. Not to forget, Adria is still alive. People WILL buy it and while Bilzz won't break any pre-order records this time, they will still sell in huge numbers and make tons of cash. Server, login and ban problems will persist as usual if not become worse. I for one having been bitten once, will shy away. More so because Borderlands 2 will be out before that and looking at my previous record, all my time will go into it :P

Just like with SC2 and D3, people will buy it even after all the "hate" it got while in development (OMG RAINBOWS, OMG NO ARBITER!!!). Doesn't matter how much flak they get for some awful service, they are BLIZZARD, one of the biggest names in the industry, people just can't help themselves to buy it to see if its any better JUST because EVERYONE has the game.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I still haven't bought D3, nor do I plan to. And if SC2's expansion ever comes out, I'm not planning to buy it after the flop of SC2's MP. It's not a bad game, it's just nothing compared to its predecessor.

file a complaint with the better business bureau. may not do anything, but if they leave it unresolved then it's a mar on their record.
https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
How do we handle your complaint?
Everything you submit will be forwarded to the business within two business days. The business will be asked to respond within 14 days, and if a response is not received, a second request will be made. You will be notified of the business’s response when we receive it (or notified that we received no response). Complaints are usually closed within 30 business days.
woah, 100% complaint closure. so likely to get a response, although perhaps not a favorable resolution.

Thanks for the advice, I just submitted a complaint. I highly doubt I'll ever play a game from blizzard again. It has now become a thing of principle to me. The extremely poor customer service is appalling.

Absolutely. People will wain, cry, give Blizz a fuck but still eat their cactus and pay Blizz for allowing them to eat cactus :D People never change in mass.

So I submitted another ticket to blizzard explaining to them, that I just filed a complaint to the better business bureau for their extremely poor customer service.
I kid you not, within 30 minutes I received an apology and that my account had been reinstated.
Freaking retarded company, still never gonna play again. Not because I despise the game itself, but because of the way I was treated.

nice one on threatening them, I guess that did scare them a little, but yeah don't blame you for not touching the game again, they really aren't a good company when it comes to customer service
they should have been more upfront on the reason they banned you, then reinstated your account. or at least give a very good reason for banning you rather then mess you around like they did
but yeah, there will be an expansion for the game and people will buy it regardless, not me, I not nme, I not got the D3 at all, and wont ever

that's what the BBB is for. An additional 3rd party for customer disputes, well to give it teeth, publically accessible complaint registry.
in particular you sounded like you had a pretty good case and in any event just seemed to be looking for information on the problem. aside from the ticket resolution, i'm very interested to see if they submit additional information with their BBB response. I really shouldn't though since it's kinda none of my business.
I'll note that they only have 1300 or so complaints over their BBB life record so it's obvious most complainants never submit a complaint. also they're an accredited business so i'd guess they take it pretty seriously. that and their 100% resolution rate.
really what a BBB complaint says is, that you're serious and you think you have a valid complaint. Kinda like writing snail mail letters. Demonstrates investment of time and effort. Also implies a longer view (what with messaging lag).
for the customer service. well...every system has its bad days. I can't say how many times i've contacted customer support(in general not blizzard) and it was in fact something stupid on _My_ end. I usually find i discover my stupidity Only after I've decided I can't figure it out and called, but that's kinda what customer support is for.
but i can only imagine what constantly dealing with idiots (even if they're smart idiots, perhaps particularly) does to a person.
On the other hand, it's often hard to convince an institution that there's in fact something wrong.
I looked at one of the complaint statistics tables on the BBB site, one of the entries was for computer hosting? services. 1 complaint...100% failure to resolve.

Nope they didn't say why. Some rep just responded to ticket saying, they personally looked into this and that they are sorry for any confusion and frustration it may have caused. Then reinstated the account.
i am still banned from forums, i plan on sharing the story there, where then my account will probably get banned again and i'll get flamed by all the fanboys who will then try to convince me it was my fault.
They know they f***ed up. Only reason they did anything is cuz they are afraid BBB will mark their record, i hope it does. Assholes

yeah the ticket's pretty understandable if they're a little terse, dude (or lady) is just doing triage PR repair.
the BBB complaint response is likely to be a little more formal and expound on the steps they've taken to repair the damage, I'm hoping it will also detail what they think happened, or at least say what they officially think happened.
I doubt threat of a BBB complaint is really what got the reversal. it certainly got their attention, but at a wild and totally speculative guess, it looks bad for the CS guys if they get BBB complaints, cuz most likely they're not the ones that service those. it probably causes some form of organizational inquiry and the last thing anyone wants is some form of process asking questions.

It won't. In fact, it'll improve their record. The BBB doesn't really care about the "meat" of the issue, as long as the issue was resolved - which it has been.
