Knowing that GD will be based on TQ's engine, I'd like to ask whether this issue is addressed or does it even exist anymore.

The slow cast bug means that active skills, such as Ice Shard sometimes take far too long to cast. The animation plays at a drastically slowed rate even though you're not under the effect of slow. When the bug occurs, you cast as if you had 100 % casting speed when in reality you have 300 % casting speed. Imagine what it looks like when you have 100 % casting speed. I believe the bug is independent of your casting speed. It happens only when you click to cast a skill for the first time, it doesn't happen again before you release your mouse button, but it doesn't always happen.

This bug made it less enjoyable to play as an Ice Sharder, since those tend to be glass cannons, and you need all the time advantage you can get. Often when the bug occurs, you end up dead against the tougher melee monsters.

I always wondered about this...I didn't know it was a bug though I thought it was some mechanic after taking melee damage.

You know, now that you mention it I vaguely remember this from way back in the day. In all my time playing TQ I've never actually seen this happen. I haven't seen it yet in GD either... so I'm not sure whether it still exists or not.

I guess this is something we'll have to keep an eye out for when we start the alpha and get a bunch of people playtesting.

Ya, I've run into the bug a lot. There were plenty of times when my Regrowth skill went from a near instant cast to a 3 second, same with Fire orb and Lightning. It was never much of a problem for me until after Typhon. I always knew it was a bug and not a game mechanic because it disrupted casts even before combat started.
