Wow, I just have to write about this. Right now I'm watching the football relegation match between Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hertha BSC Berlin (The game decides which one of the teams will have to go to the second league and which one may stay in the first, so it's really emotional and important). And it was a very very exciting match and the next goal will actually decide everything and then lots of fans started to burn fireworks, which is an unfortunate trend in german football the last few weeks, so the game has to be interrupted for 7 minutes. That by itself is absolutely unique in professional german football (The spectators being germans and thus very law-abiding and orderly. I'm allowed to say that and it's not a stereotype - I live there...)
Anyways, they manage to control the burning fireworks on the field and continue playing and now there's 2 minutes left and the home fans are actually invading the playing field even though the game is not over. People are stealing freaking parts of the grass... This is the dumbest thing I have EVER seen in german soccer because if they actually discontinue the game the home team will probably lose the match. They were winning up to this point.
In the time I typed all this, police were busy driving people off the playing field and now they might actually play for another 2 minutes or so... This has to be the most anarchistic german soccer game ever. I realise many people don't give a crap about football and in some countries these things happen way more often, but still... There will be so many youtube videos on this. Check it out latr if you want to see non-stereotypical germans for a change.
