Based on the comic series that spawned the tv show on AMC, Telltale games is releasing a 5-part mini-series that begins with episode 1, and should cost $5 bucks to down-load (per episode).
It is available to download for PC, XB 360, & PS3.
It is scheduled to come out April 24th.

Hey guys,
Anyone playing this one? It is up on Steam since yesterday for half the price of AAA titles.
It looks VERY console-based controlled, like Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) or such, meaning = you do not move your character, you just click the environment that is served to you to take some actions (dunno if you catch my drift with this description, lol). I do not think it is that bad in this case though, as it's supposed to be story/decision-driven game, and this kind of controls is there to stress the player to take quick action based on the first thought that comes to one's mind, because everything important is timed (like in the mentioned Fahrenheit).
I really love the decision factor in the game, because you are the story maker there, you decide who will die, what happens, etc., and you have to bear with that decisions through the very game till the end.
The game looks to have only the comics-based graphics and the town/surroundings it takes place in to be in common with the TWD comics/TV series, you are not one of the main characters, nor you seem to encounter any on your way.
Sneak peak at PC gameplay video is HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou9I--GrvnU). It is very start of the game, there is one very predictable spoiler, so I am sure you can watch it without feeling bad. =)
Looks like a must for all zombie-fans. =)
However, I would love to know how the port from console (as it looks like it is) works on PC, how's the controls exactly, what about the camera (same as console?), how good is the mouse scrolling and moving on the screen, how many issues does it have, etc.? Anyone? =)
Cheers,

that looks really good... the visual style and price point seem worth the money. kind of an enhanced graphic novel segment.
(on a side note, there's that one comment below the youtube video, with the 40+ likes on it as of this posting, that i found disturbing. maybe i just don't get the reference to dead island, since i never played that game but yeh... i'm sure there was a better way to phrase it. *shivers*)
anyways, good spot on this release.

Dead Island takes "zombie killing" to a very high-graphical pedigree...which is to say its bloody, violent and comically frequent. The story itself isn't half bad, and the basic idea behind the game works well enough...but its marred by trying to be two different kinds of games at the same time (Think Hellgate: London) and not really doing either type proper justice.

i don't usually play straight up zombie games, but i got into the whole walking dead thing via the amc series and i hear the graphic novels are exponentially better. the amc narratives feel a little forced sometimes, so i'm guessing they summarizied the novels to fit them into the series schedule and lost some of the organic flow of the source material.
well i just checked and the line i was referring to is gone, probably only up there until the next most popular one, but it was in the top comments of that youtube video this morning. something about the poster hoping to "kill children", because he/she couldn't do it on dead island.
i assume the poster meant zombie children, but it was a bit jarring to read it out of context.
as for dead island, i hear ya. i didn't play HGL but i read the reviews. cool idea, lukewarm execution sorta thing. too bad for all that. also thought i read it got resurrected by a company overseas recently?
