Get it this weekend for $4.99/€4.99/£3.99.

It's hack&slash RPG though, not ARPG.

Check it (http://store.steampowered.com/app/22100/) out.

I'm totally addicted to this game now! I also just found out about the secret samurai armor. That should be fun to get =).

A sequel, Mount & Blade: Warband, is coming out this year.

With multiplayer, up to 12v12 (I think) players, plus computer-controlled units, that will be awesome.

Yeah I saw that. It looks like it's slated for 3/30/2010. I'm seriously considering getting that also. The graphics look a lot better and the chance of becoming a king sounds pretty sweet as well.

Looks like the multiplayer will support up to 64 players. So many good games coming up!

You got my hopes up, I thought the game was on sale again in time for the expansion. I sadly missed this deal and really enjoyed the demo.

Sorry. Maybe I should create a new thread for something like this in the future. I hope you will get the deal in the future. I think they gonna put some sales for original M&B since the expansion is coming out. Maybe you can get better deal with bigger pack.

Don't worry about it alexei, I have just been keeping one eye on Steam looking for a M&B related deal because I became interested when I saw some footage of the new expansion like a week after the weekend Steam deal, then I picked up the demo and found it was like Sid Meiers Pirates! On horseback and I was hooked.

I would totally pay $30-40 for M&B+Warband, but $60 seems a little steep, especially when I would be picking up a copy for me and the wife who has become equally fascinated by the game.

Wow it's great to have wife who also enjoy games ^^ But it's true, $60 too steep.

After reading that Warband is not actually an expansion, but its own game and being marketed as a sequel I went ahead and picked it up off steam. The game is just way too good to pass up on a 2nd time and the developers are perhaps the smallest I have ever seen and truly deserve the money.

Edit: Oh dear lord is Warband Awesome. I thought the original Mount & Blade was neat and detailed, even The Native Expansion looks unprofessional and shallow in contrast to the awesome work they have done on Warband. This is so much fun!

I can also confirm, Warband is a Stand alone expansion, it does not require the original Mount & Blade to play the expanded and upgraded campaign. Everything that was in Mount & Blade is in Warband and then some.

I've not played Warband, but I worked for several months on a moderately successful mod for this game. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't played Mount & Blade yet do so. It provided many months of enjoyment for me before I got tired of it.

Void, Amazon has Warband for $27.00 so you can pick it up there. The few reviews there are also one extreme or the other. I was a tester for M&B in its infancy stages (early alpha etc.) It's been so long I forgot how the game is.

my question to all of you playing is it worth to pick up both or is Warband as big and far better? Also, I am running Windows 7 X64 and a GTX 275. Any known issues with Windows 7 compatibility? Thanks for any and all help childrens (does his best chef impersonation) :D

Bought Warband on launch day from Steam when I found out it was a Standalone and i didn't need to buy the original Mount & Blade to play. But thank you for the heads up!
