Hey all,
I would like to address on whether the slots for your equipment; Helm, Chest, Armsbands, Leggings and Jewlery will essentially be the same as Titan Quest and/or will there be additional slots for new equipment introduced in Grim Dawn?
I presume the slot for the 'Blue prints-created items of unprecedented badassness' will be much the same as the Artifacts slot..?
Also, Jewlery/rings havn't really been mentioned/talked about much, will these items be integral in Grim Dawn? I found these items to be a little under-powered in Titan Quest and it'd b nice if they were more important. Every piece has their place in ARPG's right?
Thanks ;)

I'm kind of hoping for inventory buffs or at least more variable slots than just an artifact. I'm sure there will be some similar mechanic if not artifacts themselves. Who knows, only the developers can comment.

Malpheas, you mean you'd like more slots? I wouldn't. Less slots = less good-for-everything builds and more thinking. I'd rather switch around the inventory more often, than have everyone go for their "ultimate builds".

I think more slots invite more variety, meaning more unique builds. If there's say 3 slots, than everyone's going to equip them with the same stuff.
I'm fine with the amount of slots in TQ and TQIT though. I just hope they save some slot rooms for expansions.

Hmm. Maybe my meandering around with ideas is not easy to understand.
I don't want a lot of slots. I think that there should be no artifact slot. I think there should be a belt. I also think that there should be options for in-inventory buff items. Like charms, if you must, from Diablo II LOD. I liked the idea of creating artifacts but also thought that there should be a way to create items anyways - not limited to artifacts.
"Ultimate builds" is a redundant thing to say since there are going to be "the best of" builds with what you've got anyways.

Malph

I agree with yerk on this one.

Who said I want 3 slots? ;p
I just misunderstood Malpheas, thinking he said the artifact slot 'is not enough'.

Yeah I agree with this, certainly sounds to be the kinda game to accomodate a slot for this. More slots means more items, loot and variety which I like :D ..ofcourse they are on a budget here, but theres always the possibility of later additions like the Artifacts with TQ:IT.
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what changes (if any) are made to this department, especially with the intro of guns (ammunition?) and also has there been talk about 2 handed weapons?
Thanks

has there been talk about 2 handed weapons? Not really, as it was only posted in the probably most unfit thread available. (http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2301&highlight=two-handed+weapons#post2301)

I just don't like charms, or anything like "inventory buffs" I think they detract from the whole point of having equipment and equipment slots.
You want to equip items you were meant to have, not stuff an arbitrary number of "inventory buffs" in your bag.
I would agree with a "Charm Slot" that allows for variety of different configurations of charms, that is much more interesting.
An inventory is meant for items that are transitory, not permanent buffs that block the players ability to pick up gear.
That's one of the things I hated about Diablo 2 LOD, if you didn't have charms, you weren't playing right, but it was never fun having charms when you were forced to lose precious space to arbitrary buffs.
I don't think charms (inventory buffs) are a fun or necessary mechanic for any game to have. They restrict the player's "up time" (the time the player can spend in the battlefield). They are also very difficult to balance.
That's my opinion.

I am fully agree with those ideas, charms means a big waste of space at inventory i prefer using to keep the gear i found anywhere.
Not Diablo2 charms, please.
