Who here would prefer a long game with low quality, or a shorter game with super high quality re-playability?

I for one, would prefer a higher quality game over a longer one. Higher quality in terms of re-playability.

The higher the quality of the game mechanics, story, environments, abilities, enemies and over-all re-playability of the game is much more desired then a dull 70+ hour play through of a game that has a lower quality but just takes longer to beat.

What's your preference?

Though generally quality re-playability = a longer game. ^_^

Lol, what kind of question is this? I think EVERYONE is gonna agree that a high quality game with tons of replayability is superior to the long, overdrawn out low quality game.

True, but I think it helps to have a representation of that.

The developers are making this game for the community more then anyone else. So we should show them that we could care less for 10+ bosses. If all those bosses meant that the game's quality was lower because they spent more time on boss #23 rather then making the game's quality better, then they wouldn't be developing what we want to be developed.

So, I think it helps to show them that we want a high quality game, that's fun, interesting, has great multiplayer, and awesome re-play value, more-so then a long drawn out game with 30 bosses (an example). We'd prefer a shorter high quality game with like 5 awesome bosses and great game-play elements.

Quality, definetly as most will say. If the game is long as dull a lot won't bother to finish the game once, let alone repeat it with a different build.

If we take into account that this game will likely have high re-playability with different builds and multiple difficulty levels (as TQ was) than quality is the way to go

I appreciate quality. I also think that the quality of this game will be as well as they can make it.

As long as they have a fan base as they do...

I'd rather have both, but if I had to choose then of course quality is going to win out.
But I also think it's okay to stretch quality a little bit and add a little extra quantity.
If you have very little quantity, then it's totally possible to still get bored fighting the same few bosses over & over again.

I'm confident though that the talented team at Crate will create a good balance. I know that GD won't be very long, but they will make it as long & as good as it needs to be to satisfy their expectations and ours.

I was thinking of putting a 3rd option "Quality and Quantity" but I decided that doing that wouldn't really be a big enough decision to make. Most people would pick quality or a mixture of both, but what I really wanted to show was, that one is more important then the other.

One being more important then the other is the point that I wanted to get to the developers. Whether they should make the game longer entirely depends upon the games quality and if it makes the game better or not.

There are many game-play elements they could add, rather then lengthening the game, that would make the game much more fun.

I'm not able to define either quality or quantity.

I can enjoy a game that's had little work put into it and have gotten bad reviews, and vice versa. Quantity can be either content or length, which are often not related.

The only thing I can say for sure is that I don't want the game's length to be artificially stretched by filler, fluff, or plain busywork. Apart from this, I don't mind a quantity>quality approach as long as the quality is where it needs to be.
