Im not sure what im getting into as in the respect of "do ability" when i bring up this type of class and have talked about a lycan and problems with shapeshifting have been said so this is kind of presenting the same thing only different :D . So what im trying to do is get a shapeshifting class in this game because i love being able to shapeshift in video games. Anyway i have a question for the crate team, have you thought about a class similar to this? or is this even do able? Btw i searched for something like a shapeshift idea and nothing came up. And so yeah. This is my idea :D .

I got some ideas for skills if you would like to take a see into my messed up mind.

Copy Cat
When the shapeshifter is hit with a spell they copy the spell back at the attacker.
15% damage taken off copied ability.

Shape Shift
The shapeshifter shifts into a monsters model and will not be attacked by any monsters untill the shapeshifter attacks them.
Lasts 15 secconds
Warning if monser is already going to attack you this dose not work

Master Mind Aura
The shapeshifter is able to see when a monster is going to attack them and can cast Shape Shift as soon as a monster notices them.
Costs as much energy as Shape Shift

Those are my ideas, hope you like them. :D :p :)

Hm, I think I saw shapeshifting somewhere already, but whatever. =))

So, your idea is more like some temporary shapeshifting, not like D2 Druid werewolf/werebear, right?

Anyway, the skills you mentioned - I am not really sure if those suit the arpg environment well...Shape Shift and Master Mind Aura sound too tactical to me, do not forget you need to kill everything, not pass by it. Or if you meant to surprise it - it is still too complicated and I think it would take too much time for an arpg to kill monsters that way.

To be less negative - I would love to have a shapeshifter in some DLC, but not those tactical skills.

I could see this working if it's done right. The Shapeshift ability would drain mana/energy while you are shifted. The stats abilities of your gear would still count towards your damage/defense. The skill tree could have skills like pounce, lethal claw, wound, just off the top of my head. I don't see how this is any different to any other class.

I don't think Copy Spell would work, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe players generally dish out a lot more damage than the enemies, and a 15% less damage would make that a very weak ability.

Just some of my thoughts.

Yeah, it is basicaly dmg reflection (only for spells though), which would require a lot higher value for it to be effective I guess, and even with it, reflecting spells only, in a game where there are mostly melee attackers (well, I think that), would not be very good skill probably..

With some tweaks and thought-out skills, I think this could work very well though! =)

I too think it will be great but unless you copy an excisting monster ,the dev's need to create another one ,which would be taking more time offcourse. And with weapons like pistols bows and other not so common for werewolves ,it will be mildly logical to have this particular thing in GD.Instead I think that a fire breathing winged demon-like grog will be more suitable :P

I like the Idea but the main fault would be how would you get your shapeshifts? you just all of a sudden have all of them? or gather deoxyribonucleic acid from every monster you kill like 2000 times or so then you have the ability to mimic that monster.

The same way damage is dealt with elements for magic it can also be for Melee Piercing, Slashing, or Pummel.(just an idea) it can be so that when you shape shift, you have an advantage over another monster/s.
