You know, you can just copy the savegame folders for pretty much every game, right? Might be just a bit more trouble, but I'm more trusting of my own backups than I am from that of Steam's. With good reason, probably, I've read several times about Steam cloud savegames not working as they should.

I've about 8 cloud games. Never had all functioning correctly at any given time. The current problem child is Trine. No, I'm not alone. There is always a cloud sync problem.

You can make your own cloud for free, and you don't need Steam Client to do so. Set up dropbox.com shared folders, pointing to your game data.

Vendor-specific clouds are just asking for trouble. Need a 3rd party to come in and handle saves for all games. Or roll your own (it's easy enough to do, though I acknowledge that some people enjoy how Steam Client automagically syncs, then breaks your syncs. It's a feature.) while waiting for that blue sky to appear.

I confirm ! I lost my saves (in fact, they were corrupted) of Deathspank on my desktop but fortunately, I could copy and paste my laptop saves. From that time on, I disabled the Steam cloud option.

This will not work e.g. with THQs Warhammer 2. I copied the (for me necessary save game files) an reinstalled it after Win-new-installation. Replacing the files to the old place "Syntax Error in Line 5:furious:" you also have to copy some files from the the Folder "Games for WIndows Live" as they are assosiate with the savegame-files :eek:.

if not, your collected points are still in your account (GFWL) but the savegames are for the trash bin............i lost three lvl 18-25 chars.........so just copy & paste works maybe 90% but not everytime i guess

For me it would be important that my chars and savegames are still working AFTER an update. It happens often this time, that you played a game like a maniac and then a new update is launched and your savegames are not running anymore and you have to "start" again.

To clear things up if anyone is confused, there is no WASD in Grim Dawn and we have no plans to add it. I can understand that some people prefer this and others hate it. Under different circumstances, we might have considered adding WASD as an alternate means of control for those who want it but, as it is, the game is just not designed to support this, it would be a lot of work to add, and we have a very, very small team.

Our current control scheme is left mouse to move / attack and skills can be bound to the right mouse like TQ.

We've added an improvement that allows you to hold down the left mouse button to move and auto-target enemies when you mouse-over them. We've also improved targeting to eliminate, or at least greatly reduce, the issue in TQ where you'd sometimes click very close to an enemy but not on them and end up running up to them instead of attacking.

If anyone wants a refund please email support@crateentertainment.com with your order information and game-key and we will be happy to grant it up to the point of release for each pre-order type.

i dont want to start a war, BUT if you order a game pre pre pre alfa, then you must know there is a change thatgame dosent turn out the way you like, asking hor a refund is just bad Chr.

i became legend fan feb last year, and i will play it no madther how you control the game, we need more dev's to make arpg games, so we have to surport the best way we can, and then maby in 5 - 10 years ( 2 games after GD :-) ) the game will have all them small things so all will be happy, you just cant blow air from your mouth and have flower in there at the same time.

+10 to all GD fans, looking forwart for the game, Crate good job, keep going, you are not alone, we are here :D

Okay, first: sorry for the double post. Second: I'm looking through this list of threads and I notice that most are fairly old. What's this forum's tolerance for bumping of old threads? Would a new thread be better than bringing back a thread from a year ago?

I am asking for etiquette advice! I have learned so much.

Yes and the list hasn't be updated in a long while. I still recommend to review these old threads, as they have a lot of feedback from Crate. Regarding your query I started Thread necro vs duplicates.

id suggest crate gets a ticket system. it worked wonders for a local private server.

all suggestions get voted on, you can only vote once for a topic,

you can give anywhere from 1-3 points out of 9.

after a ticket got enough votes it gets approved and the votes gets returned.

simple yet efficient. believe crate should get one of these system asap.

Access to the alpha is actually granted to people who bought the legendary edition or back 50$ on kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crateentertainment/grim-dawn).

If you're too poor to spend 50$, you should start another thread to beg one. ;)

I've long been a RPG fame for decades, I LOVED TQ and the expansion and thought it wonderfully done, EXCEPT (and i feel the main reason its didnt fly with the general public) was due to use of GameSpy for multiplayer. Any chance your will have your own server running this??? To prevent hacks/cheaters??? The original D & D2 did well with the server side checks via B-net but gamespy was just a horrible use of the multiplayer. If only one request-it would be to use something OTHER then the horribly outdated GameSpy servers for the multiplayer.. me & my friends who did play ad LOVE TQ wound up only doing games with each other instead of online with random hackers/cheaters and such. Dont cheapen this WONDERFULLY creative design please!

Hi, I just registered to say I'm impressed by your team's aproach on gamers, coming clean and transparent about what the game will be and its content. Keep up the good work, I enjoyed seeing the videos and the dialogue with gamers here in the forums.

Just don't hire corporate suits or PR's in the future if the game gets successful...

I'll be waiting for the day the game launches and decide whether or not to buy. If it follows up to what you been building up, you got a new fan right here!
