I love the purple tint on these haunted-demon places (and that tall guy that looks like a nightmare of an enemy)

I'm enjoying them ... love the pages of paper on the ground. Unlike the screens made of the countryside and the swamps the town looks really devastated.

The tall and skinny guy with the hammer seems scary. And I like the volcano-men too !
The bestiary seems more and more diverse.

Yeah, the detail in the scene is awesome.
Looks like a spinal cord in the lower right, but it may not be.

These screenshots look awesome. Some of the enemies look very interesting in a painful sort of way! Keep 'em comin'

Nice to see nu stuff. In the one with all those.. colors I can't see anything (maybe I should correct the display settings) but in other with this tall son of a bitch is looking great. I also like the paper on the ground (and don't forget the bones), generally those details are great. Keep going.^^

Tons of effects in that one screenie. I'm wondering what the player character is equipped with? He seems to have a topheavy shoulderplate on his rightshoulder and something what appears to be a wolfhead gauntlet on his left hand?

The lightning bolts may or may not come from the beholders, they're pretty big nonetheless.
Also, love the Victorian suburb setting in the other screenie. With a lovely new punky deathlord kind of monster :)

The nighttime shot with all the effects going looks absolutely amazing! I hadn't given any real thought to what the day/night cycle would do to combat with effects factored in, but the result looks better than I would have imagined!
Ohhhhh... Now I want to see the same type of thing when it's raining too :D
So much goodness to look forward to. Must... not... explode in gory... anticipation animation :p

Maybe it is my monitor but I can barely see anything on the last screenshot with all the effects. I mean I can see the effects in the centre but around them there is almost only darkness. :/
That aside the screen with the tall guy is very cool. I like the details in the screen. If I think of the latest Diablo3 gameplay-video I have to say that Blizzard should be ashamed to show people bland environment like that.
Is the tall guy some kind of Shaman-highpriest-cultist-thingy?

The tall guy was in a previous screenshot as well, though I gotta admit, he was hardly discernible.
If you watch closely at the dark screenshot, you'll notice that it's an outdoor environment, with a cabin on the topleft and a stone house on top of that. Some trees and brushes as well, but mostly dirt on the ground. If it's too dark, just spam fireballs :)

The first screen is brilliant, wonderful details.
The second is too dark and spells are too bright .
I hope that during game looks great.

It would be nice if we could pick up paper sheets and read on them various stuff. Maybe some quests could be introduced by such unconventional "quest givers" ? Or perhaps by inscriptions on a wall or on a tree trunk.
I think that would amplify the joy of exploring and observing the environment. Isn't a shame when developers take so much time to develop a nice environment and the player spends 95% of their time just looking (like a frog) for anything that moves so that he can whack it?

Haha, I see what you're talking about, although it is just an illusion. While a wolf-head thing would be cool, it is just his gauntlets and side-view of his shield that are forming that shape.
Almost all of the spell effects are from enemies. I'm basically just getting totally pummeled there. It is actually rather hard to fire off a bunch of player skills and manage to hit the screenshot button fast enough to capture them in a way that looks good. For the Demolitionist and Occultist, that isn't too bad since their skills tend to have a longer duration. The soldier skills are very quick though, so it is hard to get good shots of them.

As usual, they look amazing. Love the fx and dark atmosphere in these. Also thnx for the bestiary update :). I hope progress is going well...
Quick question; Do you have any 'dungeons' finished or planned? (Yes' i'm a dungeon crawler, not so much of an outdoors fan)
This make the wait even more painfull ^^.

send a commando team to steal the pre alpha
pray to the gods and hope they hear your prays
or pre order legendary edition and wait like the rest of us for the alpha release :D

An unique armor item with a wolf-head shape would be a really cool badass gear ! :p

We still have to see some dungeon screens. I hope they'll be tough with powerful loots which cannot be found elsewhere.
Do you know now if the dungeons will be randomly generated ?

random dungeons would be cool if that is possible

Why don't you use FRAPS and re-map the screenshot button to "1" or something and leave that skill free?

An easier route for something like that might be to just use AHK (http://www.autohotkey.com/) to remap another key to the screenshot button. Say "z" or "`".
If the screenshot button is "PrintScreen", remapping it to "`" would be as simple as this.
`::PrintScreen

its not really a matter of distance to button, its just that when you're dealing in millisecond timing, it is hard to press it at the exact right moment given that the screenshot doesn't necessarily happen instantly either.

Awesome new screenshots! This is certainly color done right, plenty of stuff to look at!
I can't wait to see how this game plays out and give you some feedback!

If screenshots are so dependant on split second timing, then why not go with recording video then. It is the obvious solution I'd have thought? ;)

Oh, and the screenshots confirm my philosophy of "In Crate I trust." They look brilliant. If there was one concern I had, it was the effect of having too much dark environments. But having spell and skill effects countering/contrasting against the darkness of the environments really stands out, and simply looks cool.
Dang! I didn't realize new screenshots were posted! Those new ones are really getting me excited: are those actually the first peek at dungeons and interiors? :)
It is actually rather hard to fire off a bunch of player skills and manage to hit the screenshot button fast enough to capture them in a way that looks good.
Sounds hard indeed '.' What about recording a session of game in HD and then taking the screenshots from the video? Might be more time consuming on the other hand.

Many of my screenshots are in the late afternoon or evening, so the light can change the environments quite a bit. It is much more significant than TQ.
The very dark screenshot is during the darkest hours of night, which occur at about 10pm and 2am when the moon isn't in the sky. So, this is a somewhat brief period and then it begins to get lighter as either the moon rises or the first light of dawn appears. Those times tend to be quite atmospheric with pale, eerie light.

The day-cycle was one of the most important sources of atmosphere for TQ. It's very nice to hear, that it has been improved upon further.
Together with a world/setting that already has more atmosphere on it's own, this will be real great! :D:D
I wasn't too fond of the historical setting of TQ. Always seemed a bit lifeless and bland to me. Sorry.

Did all places have day night cycle? Imho, some places better off with only night settings, with thick mist and monster howl. Hoooowl....:))
