I have no idea where the game is up to but it seems as though with 5 mix-n-match classes you'll still need versions of the old archetypes.

I quite enjoy "tradeoff" characters, I'd like to see a melee class that forgoes almost any defensive measures such as shields or heavy armor to focus entirely on two handers or dual wielding with maximum offensive power. Like a berserker maybe.

Possibilities;
Gaining power the longer he is engaged in continuous battle (a passive skill)
Bonus to attack/damage/speed the lower his armor class is in relation to character level (activatable skill?)
Riposte, instead of parry/block, a chance to strike at any mob that misses you (passive skill)
A burst of speed and power that drains health (activated skill)
2 handed weapon crowd control attacks such as sweeps
Can dual wield 2hander weapons (perhaps at lvl/strength req. penalty)
Something that has a chance to stun/frighten/slow nearby mobs.
Dueling ability, target one monster to fight to the death without outside interference.

Tried not to conceive an uber character with no weaknesses or who wouldn't possibly benefit from skills of another class.

Berzerkers/Barbarians/Warriors/Sentinels/Gladiators/Warlords, whatever you want to call it, arpg always have that beat 'em up fighter class. It is pretty safe to say that GD will have this as well as such a huge part of the player base prefers this type of class (usually the 3rd or 4th toon I roll).
