A question for the developers: How much work does it involve to add on/off buttons or sliders/toggles for things like item filters, weather effects, difficulty, etc.? I ask because I spent a fair amount of time on the Diablo III forums and there were dozens of suggestions about implementing features with the eventual answer or compromise being that the developers should create the feature and then allow a button or toggle for the user to decide if it should or shouldn't be displayed in his particular gaming session. My guess is that adding the option to activate a feature is miniscule in comparison to adding the feature itself. More to the point, are there some specific ideas that you are interested in pursuing, and so would better appreciate our feedback?

We are definitely looking to add toggles, etc. where appropriate. As for ideas/features for feedback, I'll leave that to Medierra to answer.

I do like being able to turn on/off specific game features and having plenty of graphical and sound options.
One current example for me is in Sanitarium (http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/sanitarium), where after a while the footsteps of my character (especially if theres lots of walking back and forth) really get on my nerves, but there isn't an option to turn them off, and turning down the sound effects would then remove other more important sounds...
As for Grim Dawn, there does seem to be lots of talk for and against several game mechanics, such as auto-looting.

To clarify my question, I'm all in favor of user-defined options. What I am trying to get a handle on is the scope and number of features that the developers are seriously considering. Again, the D3 forums had loads of suggestions and eventually one fan or another would assert that the feature, or any and every feature, should be implemented and that user controls should be added to an options menu that I imagined would be pages long. I realize that there is not an unlimited amount of time and effort that can be put into the game, and so I'd like the developers to tip their hats a little bit so that I can tailor my input toward what they are likely to add to the game.

I hope not too much time is wasted making too many things into options...

And there's the time spent during testing making sure that the game performs as it should with all the different settings...

Really dense fog covering the battlefield is an example. Rain so heavy that you can see your reflection on the ground and lighting so nearby that it strikes the objects around you. Maybe implement a wind mechanic to manipulate magic spells like the fire orb in TQ.
